NEW SHAPES FOR THE SEASON

The first leather assortment of the year introduces new shapes that showcase the art of writing as wearable accessories.

A duo of leather holders find inspiration in the notebook, with each design crafted to fit a Montblanc medium notebook on the inside and a Montblanc writing instrument on the outside. Defined by its envelope shape in grain leather, the Medium Notes Holder doubles as a clutch thanks to its single large inside pocket. The Medium Notebook Holder echoes the same external design, but instead acts as a wrap-around notebook cover, completed with additional inside pockets to keep documents organised.

The Pen Loop Necklace, brought to life in tangerine, khaki, and saffron-coloured Sartorial leather, can be worn around the neck or attached to belts and bags, keeping writing instruments always close at hand.

The Spring/Summer 2026 season also introduces a new belt-inspired design, in which a belt featuring a horseshoe buckle wraps around the bag’s body to become a shoulder strap.

This design adorns the Belt Crossbody Messenger with its flap closure, and the more compact Belt Vertical Crossbody featuring a zip closure. Both shapes are available in black and khaki-toned Sartorial leather.
SIGNATURE SHAPES, REIMAGINED

The rich colour palette of the Montblanc universe continues to live on in the Maison’s signature leather pieces, reimagined this season with earthy tones, tactile materials, and supple leathers.

First introduced in Fall/Winter 2025, The Writing Traveler returns in fauve, an orange-toned brown shade, and in velvet green, both finished with a sfumato effect. Drawing inspiration from a portable “cabinet of curiosities” that combines the creative spirit of the desk with fine leather craftsmanship, the Writing Traveler accommodates writing instruments, notebooks, small leather goods, and a dedicated watch slot in the briefcase version of the bag.

The spacious Weekender appears in Montblanc’s archive-inspired Jacquard 4810 fabric, accented this season with fauve-coloured leather detailing, as well as a version in velvet green sfumato corteccia leather; the latter finish also adorns the #MY4810 Cabin Trolley. Shifting from dark to light on each leather piece it adorns, the sfumato effect’s soft gradient finish echoes the gentle saturation of ink on paper.

Montblanc’s signature Extreme leather, with its Bauhaus-inspired geometric motif and durability synonymous with life on the move, is reinterpreted in an earthy khaki tone for shapes such as the Thin Briefcase and the On-Body Bag.

THE ART OF THE DESK

This season, Montblanc continues to explore the Art of the Desk and the creative ways in which an intimate workspace can become an expression of personal style.

Combining the Maison’s fine leather craftsmanship with the world of writing, the expanded desk accessories range features trays, writing instrument holders and boxes crafted in the season’s fauve-hued corteccia leather, adding a distinctive touch to the modern desk.

Presenting the codes of fine watchmaking in an elegantly feminine way, Montblanc’s Bohème collection continues to grow with three models – a 30mm Automatic Date and two new Day & Night models in 30mm and 34mm – in a new deep shade of blue. Following the models unveiled last year with silver-white dials, these new blue-toned pieces include delicate details inspired by handwriting and watercolour painting, as well as a new interchangeable stainless steel bracelet with a textured central link and fine adjustment system.

The Bohème Style
The Montblanc Bohème collection combines sophisticated dials with precious decorative techniques and practical complications that are all interpreted with considered elegance. The classic case, with its faceted integrated horns, blends the Montblanc Bohème style with essential functionality.

Montblanc Bohème Automatic Date 30mm
The Montblanc Bohème Automatic Date comes in a 30mm stainless steel case and features an elegant sunbrushed blue dial adorned with diamond indexes, rhodium-coated floral Arabic numerals and rhodium-coated hands. A closer look at the dial reveals numerous refined watchmaking details, including a filet sauté pattern around the periphery of the dial, an engraved circular line that frames the sunbrushed finish, and a stamping technique called filé d’étoiles for the ring containing the numerals and diamond indexes. This filé d’étoiles technique was inspired by photographs of the night sky that use long exposure times to capture the movement of stars in the night sky as the Earth rotates.

Powered by the Maison’s MB 24.19 automatic movement, with a power reserve of approx. 38 hours, the Montblanc Bohème Automatic Date indicates the hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as a date in an almond-shaped aperture at six o’clock. A keen eye will note the date numerals are handwritten in a romantic font style. Other details include a water resistance of 30 meters, a blue calf leather strap with alligator print featuring Montblanc’s interchangeable strap system, and an additional strap in silver calf leather. This year, the Montblanc Bohème Automatic Date is also available on an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet with a textured central link and fine adjustment system.

Montblanc Bohème Day & Night 30mm and 34mm
The new Montblanc Bohème Day & Night models come in a choice of 30mm or 34mm stainless steel cases. Like the Automatic Date, they feature sunbrushed blue dials adorned with diamond indexes, rhodium-coated floral Arabic numerals, and rhodium-coated hands. Other refined details include a filet sauté pattern around the periphery of the dial, an engraved circular line that frames the sunbrushed finish, and a stamping technique called filé d’étoiles for the background behind the numerals and diamond indexes.

Fitted with the automatic calibre MB 24.20 with an approx. 42-hour power reserve, these two new models indicate the hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as the date and a day and night display. The date is presented in an almond-shaped aperture at 6 o’clock with handwritten numerals. This romantic font has also been applied to the dial for the day & night mention “Jour et Nuit”.

The celestial day & night complication is of particular note as the disc has been designed in the style of watercolour painting to show the changing sky over a period of 24 hours, adding a playfully sophisticated detail to the timepiece.

Other notable features include a blue calf leather strap with alligator print featuring Montblanc’s interchangeable strap and bracelet system, an additional strap in silver calf leather, a stainless steel bracelet with a textured central link and fine adjustment system, and an open caseback offering a view of the movement.

A New Limited Edition
Montblanc’s latest 1858 The Unveiled Minerva Chronograph showcases the Maison’s reversed chronograph movement in a new colour scheme which sees the addition of a yellow gold 750/1000 (18 karats) fluted bezel and brown-coated bridges and plates that complement the yellow gold-coloured gear train on the movement.

For the delight of those peering into the depths of the movement, the latest limited edition is powered by the calibre MB M17.26. Like the calibre MB M16.26, this monopusher calibre has been flipped over to display all the mechanical action on the dial side of the watch. At first glance, the viewer may think it is a skeletonized movement, but a closer look reveals that this chronograph movement is on full display on the dial side of the watch.

In order to let the eye delve deeper into the movement and observe the craftsmanship of the individual components, the chronograph complication of the calibre MB M17.26 has been constructed on pillars. The chronograph bridge has also been put on top of the movement to highlight this component, the specific design of which was patented in 1912. Five sapphire crystal apertures in the case band further enhance the experience by letting the light flood into the hand-finished manually wound movement. Montblanc’s designers have taken a truly architectural approach to the entire timepiece in order to create depth and a play of light that flows through the movement, so that the wearer can fully admire the 291 components

This new limited edition comes in a 43mm stainless steel case with an elegant horizontal satin finishing. It is fitted with an yellow gold 750/1000 (18 karats) fluted bezel that has been inspired by Minerva’s first fluted bezel dating back to 1927.

Signature Minerva Movement Design
In keeping with all Montblanc’s complicated movements, the distinctive Minerva arrow and the Maison’s “V”-shaped bridge are also on display. The Minerva arrow is a tribute to the eponymous Roman goddess who is often depicted with her arrow-tipped staff in hand, and the unusual “V”-shaped bridge comes from the view of the mountains seen from the watchmakers’ window in Villeret, a sight that has been a constant since the founding of the workshop in 1858.

No Distractions
Particular attention has been paid to the indications so that they don’t distract from the movement with a sapphire crystal dial, an open-worked 30-minute chronograph counter, an open-worked small seconds display, and elegant hands and indexes that have been created with Super-LumiNova® for enhanced legibility.

Today, these historic timepieces provide the inspiration for the Montblanc 1858 product lines that pay tribute to Minerva’s rich heritage.

Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph Limited Edition 100
For the new Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph, the inspiration comes from an early 42mm military monopusher split second chronograph from the 1930s. This new model is housed in a 44mm stainless steel case with a fixed white gold 750/1000 (18 karats) fluted bezel. The dial features a dark burgundy colour with sunray decoration, black chronograph counters and white luminescent Arabic numerals for an elegant new look.

Providing readability and vintage style, the new burgundy-toned dial is enhanced with vintage shaped hour- , minute- and seconds-hands, a central split-second hand, a 30-minute chronograph counter, and a tachymeter scale.

Tachymeter
Like on the original timepiece, the Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph Limited Edition 100 has a tachymeter scale (base 1000) that runs around the dial. The tachymeter was a common feature on Minerva chronographs and adds both function and a vintage touch to this new watch. A tachymeter lets the user measure a length of time, up to one minute, as it is the case in traditional chronographs. The tachymeter indicates the speed of a moving object, such as a car, over a known distance.

Calibre MB M16.31
The caseback reveals the Manufacture, hand-finished manually wound, monopusher, split second chronograph calibre MB M16.31 which takes its inspiration from the original Minerva chronograph calibre 19-09CH from 1909, as well as its successor, the 17-29, developed in the 1930s, which was used for both pocket watches and wristwatches. The calibre MB M16.31 features handcrafted traditional finishings such as Côtes de Genève, inner angles, circular graining and bevelling – all performed at the Montblanc Manufacture in Villeret.

The calibre has two column wheels for the chronograph and the split complication, horizontal coupling and a power reserve of approx. 50 hours. Like its predecessor, it is composed of the same V-shaped bridge, the design of which was protected in 1912, and a large balance wheel with 18 screws beating at the traditional frequency of 2.5 Hz / 18,000 A/H.

The split second complication, or rattrapante as it is called in French, allows the user to measure intermediate times without interrupting the ongoing measurement of a longer elapsed time. It works by activating the two chronograph seconds hands which start moving together. The pusher at 2 o’clock can then stop one hand while the other continues running. A further push, and the stopped hand can be released to “catch up” with the running hand, allowing for repeated intermediate time measurements.

The Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph Limited Edition 100 is completed with a new dark burgundy-toned interchangeable calf leather strap with alligator print and a stainless steel triple folding clasp with fine adjustment system.

The First Annual Calendar Geosphere In Minerva’s Movements Portfolio
Montblanc introduces two new Montblanc 1858 Annual Calendar Geosphere Limited Editions powered by a brand-new manually wound manufacture Minerva movement, featuring an annual calendar (hours, minutes, seconds, date, and month indications), a large date and a worldtimer function. The movement has a power reserve of approx. 65 hours and is composed of 336 parts, all of which are hand-decorated using traditional haute horlogerie techniques such as Côtes de Genève and a rarely seen snail finishing. Well-suited to complement this level of craftmanship, its workings can be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.

Annual Calendar Functions
For the annual calendar functions, the large date is positioned at 12 o’clock, just above the historic Montblanc logo, and features two large apertures positioned side-by-side. The date is easily adjustable thanks to a corrector located at 2 o’clock. For the months, Montblanc has chosen to display them around the dial’s periphery via a red arrow showing the month in question, making them easily readable at a glance. The red arrow is a nod to the Roman goddess Minerva, the deity of craftsmanship, who was known for carrying a spear with an arrow at its tip. It also has a rich history rooted in early aviation Minerva chronographs from the 1920s and 1930s. A keen eye will notice that the month of July has been replaced by the word ‘Minerva’ as it was on July 30th 1887 that the Minerva trademark, and its recognisable arrow, were registered.

Hand-Painted Northern Hemisphere Globe
The visual focal point of these timepieces is their hand-painted, three-dimensional, rotating globe featuring the Northern Hemisphere and a Day & Night indication. The globe also indicates Greenwich Mean Time line with an orange line and a 24-hour scale. Crafted from sapphire crystal, each globe is hand-painted on the underside by a Swiss artisan, who spends four hours meticulously painting each one. The globes in these two new models represent the Northern Hemisphere, while the Southern Hemisphere is available on request.

Two New Limited Editions
The timepieces come in a 42mm case in a choice of Lime Gold 750/1000 (18 karats) (30 pieces) or stainless steel (100 pieces). Both editions are fitted with fixed fluted bezels inspired by Minerva’s historic timepieces and the first fluted bezels that date back to 1927. Today, the fluted bezel is a signature design feature of all Minerva timepieces. The Lime Gold model has a matching Lime Gold 750/1000 (18 karats) bezel, whereas the stainless steel version comes with a white gold 750/1000 (18 karats) bezel.

1950s Aesthetic
The timepieces are inspired by the aesthetic codes from Minerva’s heritage, notably the 1950s: the watches from this period in the manufacture’s history are particularly recognised for their elegant dial designs and precision watchmaking. Minerva’s in-house manufacturing capabilities and limited production quantities have further enhanced the exclusivity of these timepieces, making them highly sought-after by watch enthusiasts and collectors today.

These two new limited editions celebrate this period of Minerva heritage with their silver/white-coloured sunray and grained dials with blue-coated hands and indexes (for the stainless steel version) and yellow gold-coated hands and indexes (for the Lime Gold 750/1000 (18 karats) model), all while offering wristwatches that present a new take on some of the most well-known timepieces from Minerva’s past.

The shape is offered in two compact formats: a smaller Clutch and a larger Clutch Document Holder, both available in a light brown-hued noisette shade, khaki and black.

Paying tribute to the world’s first inking chronograph, the Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph stands as an embodiment of Montblanc’s dual heritage in writing instruments and horology. This year, the Maison continues to honour Nicolas Rieussec’s original ink-marking invention with a brand-new 43mm stainless steel model featuring an elegant green dial and a matching green interchangeable calf leather strap with a vertical sfumato design.

The Beginning of the Story
The story of this timepiece began on Saturday, 1st September 1821 when Nicolas Rieussec (1781-1866) first tested his timekeeping invention at the horse races. His device recorded the precise times of all the horses as they crossed the finish line, literally “writing time”, which inspired the term “chronograph”. Rieussec was not only the sixth royal watchmaker to the King of France; he was also a businessman with an eye for opportunity. Horse races in Paris at this time were big business, and being able to scientifically record the winners would be a game-changer for the sport.

How Did Nicolas Rieussec’s Device Work?
Nicolas Rieussec’s device used a fixed nib that would place a drop of ink on two rotating counters (one for the minutes, the other for the seconds) each time a horse crossed the finish line. His invention was a success and a

few weeks later, he presented it to the Academy of Sciences in Paris, whose members were fascinated by the timing device and named it a “chronograph,” taken from the Greek words chronos for time and graphein to write. The word chronograph was born and Nicolas Rieussec became the inventor of the world’s first inking chronograph, marking the history of fine watchmaking.

The First Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Collection
Fast forward to the modern day and the year 2007, when Montblanc unveiled an intriguing wristwatch version of Nicolas Rieussec’s technology featuring its first in-house movement. The configuration of Rieussec’s design was interpreted with two horizontally aligned chronograph counters, one for elapsed 60 seconds and the other indicating 30 minutes. Instead of each counter being static with its own rotating hand, the counters were the ones to turn and a single index marker placed between the two counters indicated the elapsed time.

Since 2007, Montblanc has unveiled several editions of this special timepiece in a host of different materials, colours and styles. For this latest version, the Maison has chosen a 43mm stainless steel case that has been paired with an elegant green dial and a matching green interchangeable calf leather strap with a vertical sfumato design.

This new strap has been specially designed by Montblanc Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta, who found inspiration in the Maison’s writing instrument nibs for its pointed shape. The lining has also been enhanced with a map of Paris from 1821. Those familiar with Paris may recognize the neighbourhood of the Ile de la Cité, where Rieussec had his workshop, and the Champ-de-Mars horse racing track, where the story of this famous timepiece first began.

The Parisian Connection
This new strap is just one of many elements that celebrate The City of Light in this timepiece. A graphic Clous de Paris motif on the dial originates from the geometric design of Paris’s cobbled streets. The motif, not uncommon in fine watchmaking, is continued onto the oscillating weight, enhancing the contemporary aesthetic of the timepiece. A mention in French of the “Académie des Sciences de Paris” is engraved on the flange, as a reminder that the academy validated Rieussec’s invention in 1821. The name “Chronographe Nicolas Rieussec” is also engraved at 12 o’clock. Other modern details to note on this new model include a day/night indicator at 9 o’clock, dynamic ‘Dauphine’ hands with Super-LumiNova, a skeletonized second time zone hand, baton indexes, and silver counters, which provide an elegant contrast with the green dial.

In-House Movement
The Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph is powered by the self-winding Manufacture monopusher chronograph movement MB R200, which was the very first in-house movement by the Maison. Everything in the movement has been designed to reach a high level of technical efficiency and aesthetics.

The Manufacture Chronograph is equipped with a column-wheel that controls the monopusher mechanism. To improve the chronograph’s start, the connection between the gear train and the chronograph’s wheels is alternately engaged and disengaged by a vertical disc clutch and functions without any wear and tear. This mechanism prevents the elapsed time discs from jumping when the chronograph is switched on. The timepiece features a monopusher which is ergonomically positioned at 8 o’clock, where the wearer’s thumb can conveniently operate it.

Additionally, a rapid-reset mechanism for the hour and date is practical for travelers who journey from one time zone to another. These indicators can be reset either clockwise or counter-clockwise without affecting the position of the minute hand.

The rate is regulated by a large 10mm diameter balance wheel with screws, which oscillates regularly thanks to its high moment of inertia (12 mgcm²) and its frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz). The stable rate is further enhanced by the double barrel, providing approx. 72 hours of power reserve. Furthermore, the balance bridge is open-worked, ensuring the precise positioning of the oscillator for optimal shock resistance.

The new Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph continues to pay homage to Rieussec’s invention and the city of its birth with a new colourway and features that take this classic timepiece into the future of fine watchmaking for new generations of watch lovers to enjoy.

With its latest Montblanc Writers Edition, the Maison pays homage to one of the greatest literary and intellectual figures of all time – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832). Writer, philosopher, scientist and statesman, Goethe’s contributions to both world literature and human knowledge are captured in a new collection of writing instruments that brings to life the many facets of his genius. His masterpiece Faust and his many other groundbreaking works in natural science, philosophy and the arts continue to inspire generations.

As part of this homage, Montblanc is supporting the renovation of Goethe House with a donation, including dedicated funding towards the preservation of the Juno bust – an artefact of immense personal significance to Goethe. The centre of the polymath’s life and career for many years that saw the creation of numerous important works, Goethe House served as inspiration for various design elements in the collection, with the features of the Juno bust notably decorating one of the writing instruments.

A Writer, a Thinker, a Visionary
The Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe explores the wide-ranging interests of the German polymath through four limited editions, each representing a different dimension of his life and work – writer, statesman, collector and scientist. Every design detail draws from his prolific output and intellectual passions – from natural sciences to world literature, from experimental glassware to the poetic beauty of nature.
The shape of the barrel and the cone is modelled on a historic writing instrument that Goethe holds in a painting by Carl August Schwerdgeburth, a reference to his status as a writer across many different genres including poetry, drama, novels, academic treatises and autobiographical works. The cap top in the shape of a globe symbolises his reach as a world literary figure and his influence on other writers and artists around the world. The shape of the cap is based on a historical chemist’s glass jar and is intended to commemorate Goethe’s achievements as a collector and researcher in botany, optics and geology. A further reference to his contributions to botany, the clip is shaped like a leaf in recognition of the importance of his work The Metamorphosis of Plants.

Writers Edition – Limited Edition
Dedicated to Goethe the writer, the blue-grey hue and subtle marbled texture of the cap and barrel of the edition are inspired by the wallpaper in the Juno Room of Goethe’s Weimar residence – the same room which houses his beloved bust of Juno Ludovisi to this day. The engraving on the barrel ring, meanwhile, echoes the framing of a copperplate illustration in an early edition of Goethe’s work The Sorrows of Young Werther.

A floral motif on the cap top, referring to a decoration found on a letter to his love interest Charlotte Kestner who inspired his writing of Werther, evokes Goethe’s intimate and emotional voice. The signature gold-coated clip is shaped like a botanical leaf, honouring Goethe’s work The Metamorphosis of Plants. The solid Au 750 rhodium-coated gold nib features a delicate illustration of Faust as imagined by Eugène Delacroix. Further literary references include the word “Faust” in original typography from the 1790 edition, which decorates the nib, and Goethe’s own signature from an 1814 invitation card reproduced on the side of the cap.

Limited Edition 1808 – The Statesman
With a limitation number referring to the year his masterpiece Faust was published, this edition honours Goethe’s role in government and cultural reform. The precious lacquer finish in a carmine red shade on the barrel is reminiscent of Goethe’s ceremonial sash and overlaid with a gold pattern inspired by the “House Order of Vigilance”, which Goethe received for his special services to the Weimar court. The pattern on the cone evokes the calligraphy on Goethe’s certificate of appointment as Privy Legation Councillor, and the base reveals his own sketch of the Earth Spirit, the powerful entity that symbolises the forces of nature and the human connection to the natural world in Faust.

The design of the cap is based on an illustration created for the edition of Faust Part I inspired by Rembrandt’s The Alchemist at Home (1652), which is thought to depict the Doctor or a Faustian figure looking at a window where a magic disc shines at him. The pattern on the cap top and cone ring are taken from the design of his court uniform. Crafted from solid Au 750 gold, the bi-colour nib is adorned with one of the main scenes from Faust: Mephistopheles flying above the nocturnal city, as depicted in the original illustration by Eugène Delacroix.

Limited Edition 88 – The Collector
Limited to 88 pieces in reference to the year 1788 when Goethe returned from his Italian Journey, this design of the edition draws on his Italian experience and passion for collecting art and artefacts. Inspired by Goethe’s bespoke collection cabinets, the barrel is crafted from ebony wood with partly rhodium-coated solid gold fittings. A hand-engraved bust of Juno Ludovisi appears on the barrel set against the wings of the statue of Victoria of Fossombrone, also on display in Goethe’s home in Weimar.

The cap is made from walnut wood in the shape of a pinecone, a memento Goethe collected in Italy as a wonder of nature itself and as a reminder of an antique bronze pinecone sculpture he had admired at the Vatican. The cap top is decorated with a delicate pattern reminiscent of Karlsbad glass, from which Goethe went to great lengths to produce a total of eleven drinking glasses and enjoyed demonstrating their surprising colour effects to his Weimar guests. Crafted from solid Au 750 gold, the bi-colour nib bears an illustration of Faust by Delacroix. A carnelian stone engraved with the letter ‘F’, a nod to Faust, adorns the gold cone, while a silver obsidian inlay references Goethe’s geological finds in Italy. Crowning the edition, the Montblanc emblem is made of rock crystal set in solid Au 750 gold.

Limited Edition 8 – The Scientist
A celebration of Goethe’s scientific explorations, this limited edition features a cap and barrel shaped like the pinecone from his Italian Journey. Made from solid Au 750 gold with elaborate inlays of lapis lacquer and jasper lacquer, white and pink mother-of-pearl and ebony wood, the design reflects Goethe’s rich collection of minerals and stones while the colour scheme receives its inspiration from his work Theory of Colours. A truly interdisciplinary approach that merged science and art, Goethe’s theory offered a profound understanding of how colours influence the human experience.

The dome-shaped cap top is crafted from rock crystal framed in gold and crowned by the hand-engraved Montblanc emblem as well as a hand-painted golden snake, the latter a reference to the drinking glasses commissioned by Goethe in Karlsbad with which he would demonstrate the astonishing effects of colour. At the base, the cone is encircled by a band of lacquer inlays whose colours are inspired by those Goethe observed during his experiments with glass prisms. This empirical research in the field of optics is also immortalised in the rock crystal inlaid between gold rings at the tapered end of the cone, in addition to his engraved signature. On the bottom of the cone, an inlay of granite represents Goethe’s enduring fascination with geology and the origins of the Earth.

The solid Au 750 gold nib showcases Delacroix’s illustration of Faust in his study, while the engraving of swirling lines on the solid, rhodium-coated Au 750 gold forepart is a nod to Goethe’s research in optics and the cards he devised to illustrate them. The limitation of the edition to just eight pieces is inspired by a key scene in the author’s most significant dramatic work: as Faust awaits his rejuvenation in the witch’s kitchen, it is the number eight, according to the witch’s numerical incantation, that marks the accomplishment of the great task.

To complete the collection, Montblanc is introducing a notebook decorated with an illustration from Goethe’s chromatic deck of cards featured in his work Theory of Colours. A circular box of inks recreates Goethe’s symmetrical colour wheel, through which the polymath observed the effects of opposed colours and attributed symbolic qualities to each one. The box unveils a selection of 6 ink bottles, each matching a colour on the wheel. A pair of round stainless steel cufflinks with blue-grey precious resin detailing completes the collection of accessories.

Montblanc presented its Spring/Summer 2026 leather goods collection at Milan’s Salone dei Tessuti, offering a refreshed expression of the Maison’s craftsmanship and writing culture. The latest showroom took visual cues from the cinematic world of Wes Anderson, a universe where design, symmetry and storytelling come together in harmony.

The Montblanc space at Salone dei Tessuti had transformed the idea of a train station into a place of creative departure where inspiration begins and writing takes form. Inspired by the new Wes Anderson-directed short film “”Let’s Write”, every element reflected the Maison’s DNA: heritage, elegance and a passion for timeless design.

In collaboration with Edinas Paper, Ermes Ponti, and the Montblanc Retail Design team, the entrance to the showroom paid special homage to craftsmanship and the different ways its expressed at various Montblanc touchpoints. Upon entering, guests could find a space designed by Ponti that showcased original designs, sketches, tools, and materials used in the bespoke Montblanc Desk manufacturing process. Meanwhile, the Edinas Paper space invited visitors to explore paper elements from the Montblanc’s campaign design and even receive a special 3D postcard as a keepsake.

Expanded Colour and Material Universe
Inspired by the colour palette of the Wes Anderson-directed short film, the season’s assortment celebrates contrast — earthy neutrals meet citrus tones, while tactile materials are introduced through the likes of suede calfskin, printed denim, corteccia with sfumato effect, and grain leathers.

New Shapes, Refined Constructions
The new collection presents structured reinterpretations of some of the Maison’s most recognizable pieces, such as the Montblanc Writing Traveler, as well as launch versatile novelties: these include a soft-construction briefcase, a crossbody bag featuring a belt detail that wraps around the bag and extends into a shoulder strap, and the Companion backpack which is completed with a vertical zipped compartment at the front.

The Envelope Collection, Expanded

New refillable notebook holders intended to be closed with a writing instrument, elegant pen pouches with a nib closure, and finely crafted writing instrument coffrets present both new and traditional forms in various leather finishes such as corteccia with a sfumato effect, grain, and saffiano. The colour palette captures bold seasonal tones like velvet green, saffron, and tangerine.

The New Travel Line in Nylon
Debuting a new lightweight travel line, Montblanc introduces various shapes in a water-repellent technical gabardine. The sleek silhouettes — from weekenders and toiletry bags to garment bags — are adorned with soft leather details, bridging elegance with the functionality required for life on the move.

Montblanc’s #MY4810 trolley in the bold Extreme 3.0 print is also refreshed in navy blue with ebony-coloured accents, while a new finish in velvet green corteccia leather adds luxurious texture to the Maison’s signature trolley design.

Premiering globally on June 19th, “Let’s Write” builds on Anderson’s imaginative exploration of Montblanc’s world through the lens of creativity with a dose of humour, and many unexpected twists and turns.

Actors Rupert Friend, Waris Ahluwalia and Esther McGregor, who feature in the new short film, were joined at the launch by the short film’s co-director Roman Coppola. The event was also attended by Montblanc global brand ambassadors Joey King and Daniel Brühl who take part in the wider brand campaign. Additional international guests included Montblanc regional brand ambassadors Seo Kangjun, Kerem Bürsin and Alfonso Herrera, as well as friends of the brand Mew Suppasit, Cooper Koch and Manolo Caro.

The evening began at Milan’s majestic Central Station, where guests started their journey aboard the Montblanc Train taking them straight to the heart of the event: Squadra Rialzo Milano Centrale, a historical train depot. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed at Montblanc Station, an imaginary departure hall that echoed the fantastical, colourful world of the short film.

The gala dinner was set inside the train depot itself, which had been transformed into an elegant dining hall, complete with a long candlelit table flanked by vintage train carriages. After introductory words by Stephanie Radl, Montblanc Director Brand Relations and Communications, the “Let’s Write” short film by Wes Anderson was officially unveiled.
Midway through the dinner, darkness enveloped the hall as a cue for Montblanc’s first-ever fashion presentation. Models descended from the train in choreographed unison, showcasing a capsule of 16 elegant looks, with Montblanc leather jackets designed by Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta as the show’s highlight.

The leather jackets continue Tomasetta’s exploration of the desk, a space at the heart of the Montblanc universe. Since his arrival at the Maison in 2021, Tomasetta has been influenced by the richness of the Montblanc archives to explore ways in which to interpret this deeply creative setting: starting from the Montblanc desk itself, to the Writing Traveler bag that opens up to unveil a writer’s creative tools, and now, the Montblanc leather jackets which embody the desk in a wearable form. Styled with leather goods from the Maison’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the leather jackets illustrate Tomasetta’s vision of how people can bring writing intimately into their everyday style.

“I was deeply inspired by the Maison’s Hamburg archive that I have been closely studying for the past four years. It only takes a few seconds to recognise one of Wes Anderson’s works, a filmmaker who favours old-fashioned craftsmanship over digitally generated computer images, in an age where technical ingenuity knows practically no bounds. A celebration of craftsmanship and storytelling, Anderson has designed the “SCHREIBERLING” – the “scribbler” – inspired by the legendary “baby” pens of the 1910s and 1920s from the Montblanc archive, considered as some of the smallest writing instruments of their time.

Anderson is no stranger to the universe of Montblanc. The Academy Award-winning filmmaker created and directed the 100 Years of Meisterstück short film last year to mark the 100th anniversary of the Maison’s iconic writing instrument: the Meisterstück. Anderson put his own unique spin on the world of Montblanc through his inimitable storytelling and unmistakable visual identity, bearing the hallmark of a true storyteller with the capacity to translate the essence of words into images in spectacular fashion. It was in this short film that the filmmaker first teased the existence of the new “SCHREIBERLING” writing instrument.

Emerging from Anderson’s reimagined Montblanc universe, the “SCHREIBERLING” Limited Edition 1969 unites in its miniature form historical design and expert craftsmanship. The writing instrument takes the stage in vibrant green and yellow lacquer, accentuated by platinum-coated fittings. In reference to the coral-coloured cap top of one of the iconic writing instruments from the Maison’s early years, this new interpretation of the “baby” pens is similarly crowned with the Montblanc emblem surrounded by coral-coloured precious resin. The piece is limited to just 1,969 pieces, marking the filmmaker’s year of birth.

The “SCHREIBERLING” is available as part of a writing set presented inside a green tin box with a coral-coloured lining, taking inspiration from the tin tool boxes often seen in Anderson’s films. A notebook, a ruler, and ink cartridges in green accompany the fountain pen to complete the writing experience.

After introducing its 100 Years of Meisterstück campaign in May with a short film written and directed by award-winning director and screenwriter Wes Anderson, Montblanc delves deeper into its extraordinary world in a series of new campaign visuals. The campaign continues with a series of visuals that pay tribute to the iconic Meisterstück writing instrument’s 100th anniversary and spotlight Montblanc leather pieces from its latest collections.

The new campaign visuals transport audiences back to the snowy peak of the Mont Blanc mountain and the whimsical Montblanc universe that Anderson reimagined in his short film. The Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date collection, launched in 2022, caught the watch world’s attention with its dials inspired by glacial ice from the Mer de Glace on the Mont-Blanc massif. Enriching the collection, Montblanc now unveils two new models: a bronze-tone model with a black glacier pattern dial, and a stainless-steel version with a new burgundy-tone glacier pattern dial.

Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date – Bronze-tone Edition
Capturing the color of the setting sun over the glacier, this new Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date combines a black glacier pattern dial with a warm bronze-tone case, introducing a new aesthetic to the Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date collection. The new bronze-tone timepiece features a case crafted from cupro aluminium, a special alloy that is one and a half times more resistant than bronze and is highly resistant to corrosion and rust. It is made out of a mix of aluminium and copper, in contrast to standard bronze (copper and tin), or brass (copper and zinc). Even if cupro aluminium is more resistant than regular bronze, it will still obtain an attractive patina over time.

This new bronze-tone edition comes with a new bi-color unidirectional anodized aluminum bezel, a new Montblanc Iced Sea logo inspired by a vintage Minerva export seal, and a 3D engraving on the titanium caseback with bronze-toned coating that features a larger scuba diver. The timepiece comes on an interchangeable black rubber strap with a brown outline.

Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic – Burgundy-tone Dial
The second new edition introduces a brand-new burgundy-tone dial that has been inspired by the deep red color of the evening sun as it hits the glacier. This model is paired with a black ceramic unidirectional bezel and is fitted with an interchangeable stainless-steel bracelet which is adjustable on the wrist, so each owner can find their perfect fit.

The Creative Process
The process of creating the glacier pattern dials employs a special technique called gratté-boisé as the base and gives each dial the impression of genuine depth and luminosity, while the process for the engravings on the caseback is realized using a laser that first structures the metal to create a 3D relief image that provides realism and depth, and then realizes a series of matte and shiny finishes, creating a fascinating contrast.

Ready for Action
For optimal performance in an active environment, each timepiece has undergone the Montblanc Laboratory Test to ensure that they are shock, magnetic, temperature, and water-resistant (up to approx. 30 bar) and that their fasteners are reinforced for enhanced security. The timepieces also enjoy increased visibility due to the addition of Super-LumiNova® on to the hands, indexes, and the dots at 12 o’clock on the bezel, which all glow in a luminescent shade in blue low light, keeping with the glacial theme. The bezel of the bronze-tone version comes with the first 15 minutes in a contrasting color as an additional way of timing athletic endeavors.

Following the launch of the Montblanc Unveiled Timekeeper in 2023, the Maison is introducing a new limited edition in distressed steel with a grey aesthetic. Based on a historical calibre from 1923, Montblanc’s Unveiled Timekeeper Minerva has rethought the way we record elapsed time: all the traditional Minerva design codes and watchmaking finishes are present, and yet there is no chronograph pushers to activate the chronograph.

The Montblanc Chronograph
Montblanc’s chronograph story began in 1858 when Charles-Yvan Robert founded a watch workshop in the Saint-Imier valley. As early as the 1880s, the Minerva Manufacture in Villeret had already gained international recognition for its precise timekeepers. In 1909, Minerva started to develop chronographs, quickly becoming a specialist in the fabrication of professional watches and stopwatches, and in 1923, it unveiled its first manually wound monopusher chronograph dedicated to wristwatches.

Today, Montblanc continues the Minerva chronograph legacy with the Unveiled Timekeeper, transforming this much-loved complication from the past to the present through design and technical expertise.

The Story of the White Gold Fluted Bezel
In 1927, Minerva was among the first manufactures to make a fluted bezel as well as an internal countdown rotating bezel. This was followed in 1939 by its first wristwatch chronograph with an external rotating bezel and a reset function.

In 2022, the Maison unveiled the 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph Red Arrow LE88 inspired by these rare external rotating bezel models. The key elements from the past included a fluted bezel, now in white gold, and Minerva’s recognizable red arrow that allowed a quick and easy reading of elapsed time.

Following the two limited editions released last year ¬– one in stainless steel and the other in Lime Gold – Montblanc unveils a new edition that is housed in a 42.5mm contemporary distressed steel case. This special finish is achieved by treating the stainless-steel case with a black coating. It is then manually washed and brushed with quartzite from the Mont Blanc mountain and limestone from the “V”-shaped mountain opposite the Villeret manufacture, called La Combe Grède, bringing the mountain and valley together. Thanks to this special treatment, each timepiece in this 100-piece limited edition gets its very own patina and singular appearance.

The distressed stainless steel case is dressed with an 18K white gold bezel, in keeping with current Minerva timepieces, while the grey dial takes its inspiration from Minerva chronographs from between the 1940s and 1960s. Staying faithful to these historical pieces, this new edition comes with sunray finishing; luminescent hands, numerals, and indexes; elegant subdials; tachymetre scales (with a base of 1000m, 400m, and 200m); and white indications for easy reading. The new edition also comes fitted with a grey interchangeable calf leather strap with alligator print.

Calibre MB M13.21
The Calibre MB M13.21 is the latest version of the historical Calibre 13.20 that was launched over 100 years ago. The Calibre MB M13.21 is a hand-finished, manually wound movement with a 60-hour power reserve. The chronograph seconds are indicated with a contrasting blue-colored chronograph seconds hand with the Minerva arrow as the counterweight, while a 30-minute chronograph counter is positioned at three o’clock, and a small seconds’ indication balances the dial at nine o’clock. All the chronograph hands are in blue to provide an elegant visual contrast with the grey dial and create a clear distinction with the white indications of the time display.

How does the chronograph function works?
The new Montblanc Unveiled Timekeeper Minerva takes the fluted bezel from the 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph Red Arrow and turns it into a chronograph function, marking the first time in Montblanc’s watchmaking repertoire it has been possible to activate a chronograph without having to press on a pusher.

Thanks to an innovative mechanical function, the Unveiled Timekeeper Minerva chronograph is activated via its elegant 18K gold fluted bezel, which has been refined even further in this new edition, and defines all new timepieces crafted at the Manufacture in Villeret. Just rotating the bezel clockwise with one click will start the chronograph, a second click will stop it, and a third click will reset it, transforming the way a chronograph has traditionally worked. The bezel has 30 jumps/steps per whole turn, meaning that it can time 10 separate events in one complete turn. Montblanc is one of the few watchmaking companies to have developed such a system and has filed several patent applications for it. This hidden feature respects the beauty of the historical calibre, while incorporating modern-day know-how to create a truly contemporary timepiece.

A Caseback Paying Tribute to the Minerva Legacy
The Montblanc Unveiled Timekeeper Minerva is completed with a caseback that tells the complete story of Minerva, starting with the name of the collection and the date of birth of the Minerva Manufacture at six o’clock. On an inner ring, key dates from the Minerva chronograph story are separated by little stars from the original Minerva logo, with the Minerva arrow at 12 o’clock. These key dates include:

1887 – Minerva brand and arrow symbol registered on July 30th, 1887.

1908 – Development of the first Manufacture chronograph movement (19/9CH) for pocket watches.

1912 – The Minerva V-shaped chronograph bridge is patented on April 10th.

Who Was Jacques Balmat?
The story of the first ascent of the Mont Blanc mountain is one of courage, curiosity, and ambition. Since the dawn of civilization, the Mont Blanc has inspired both fascination and fear in equal doses. According to local legends, dangerous mythical creatures inhabited the high passes, preventing passage to its 4,810-metre peak. It wasn’t until 1760 when the naturalist Horace-Bénédict de Saussure offered a substantial prize to the first person to find a way to the summit that interest grew.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts, an ambitious young hunter and crystal collector, Jacques Balmat, enlisted the help of Michel-Gabriel Paccard, a doctor with a passion for botany and minerals, to help him find a way to the top. At 6:23 pm on August 8th, 1786, the duo reached the summit, making history.

From Blue to Grey and Burgundy
In honor of Jacques Balmat and his trusted colleague, Montblanc unveiled a Star Legacy capsule collection in 2022 with a blue glacier dial that matched the deep color of the sky at the 4,810-metre summit of the Mont Blanc. This time of day is called l’Heure Bleue or the Blue Hour for its deeply intense shade of blue that only occurs at such altitudes. The following year, in 2023, Montblanc revealed a second capsule collection with a grey glacier patterned dial, a color that was inspired by the cold exposed rock on the south side of the Mont Blanc.

This year, Montblanc reveals a third capsule collection in a burgundy tone, inspired by one of the mountain’s most striking natural elements. As Jacques Balmat was a gold prospector and a cristallier, his first ascents of the Mont Blanc were aimed at discovering certain treasures, including pink and red fluorite, the emblematic mineral of the Mont Blanc massif. This rich tone of red was chosen for its association with strength, courage and maturity. All these qualities were required by Jacques Balmat and Michel-Gabriel Paccard for their venture to the summit of the Mont Blanc.

The capsule collection’s burgundy-tone dial is adorned with a glacier pattern in the centre and a sfumato effect around the outside. This smoked effect continues onto the burgundy-tone calf leather strap with alligator print that features a vertical sfumato effect at the beginning of the straps. This type of coloring is realized by Montblanc’s leather artisans in Italy. The capsule collection consists of three limited editions – an Automatic Date, a Moonphase and a Chronograph. All three models are limited to 1786 pieces in honor of the year of the first ascent and come in stainless steel cases.

Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date 39mm
The Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date presents an entirely new look with its burgundy-colored glacier patterned dial with a filet sauté, rose gold-coated hands and numerals, and Montblanc emblem on the counterweight of the seconds hand. This model is powered by the MB 24.17 automatic movement that has approximately 38-hour power reserve and indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and date. The timepiece is housed in a 39mm stainless steel case with an open caseback on the movement and comes with an interchangeable calf leather strap with an alligator print and vertical sfumato effect.

Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase 42mm
The Monblanc Star Legacy Moonphase features all the design codes of the Star Legacy Automatic Date with the addition of a moon phase complication at six o’clock which features a larger opening for the moon display. Housed in a 42mm stainless steel case, this timepiece is powered by the automatic MB 24.31 that comes with approximately 42-hour power reserve.

The Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph features all the design elements as the above models with the inclusion of a chronograph that is displayed on the burgundy-tone glacier patterned dial with black counters and an inner bezel with rack minuterie. The indications include a central chronograph seconds hand and a 30-minute chronograph counter with rhodium-coated hands, while the timekeeping functions – hours, minutes, and small seconds – feature rose-gold-coated hands. These useful indications, combined with the Montblanc Star Legacy design, create a beautiful mix between classical watchmaking and casual elegance. Housed in a 42mm stainless steel case and powered by the automatic movement MB 25.13, with approximately 48-hour power reserve, this is a watch that can be worn for any occasion.

Montblanc Star Legacy Design Codes
Like with the previous collections, there are many design elements that come into play in this burgundy-colored Montblanc Star Legacy capsule collection. The shape of the watches is inspired by Minerva pocket watches from the late 19th and early 20th century with their round, polished, pebble-shaped cases and onion-shaped crowns. They are also recognizable thanks to the Montblanc emblem on the crown, and pointed rose gold-coated, leaf-shaped hands.

All three models are water-resistant up to 5 bar (approx. 50 meters) and come with Montblanc’s interchangeable strap system. A stainless steel bracelet is also available (not interchangeable).

The Meisterstück Story
With its black cigar-shaped design, three gold rings and handcrafted gold nib, the Meisterstück has become synonymous with Montblanc as the Maison’s most recognizable product.

The writing instrument was initially created by Montblanc artisans for their own private use, as a testament to their passion for their craft and a demonstration of the savoir-faire perfected through the years. It was only after requests from some of the Maison’s clients for a more special fountain pen meant for finer “Sunday use” that they decided to make it available for sale. The year was 1924, one hundred years ago this year. Today, this iconic writing instrument remains a symbol of fine craftsmanship for Montblanc and one of its most recognizable products.

The writing instrument’s name – Meisterstück – is the German word for masterpiece. Initially, this word was translated for different markets, becoming chef d’oeuvre in French and capolavoro in Italian, for example. Today, the German name Meisterstück is used all around the world, serving as a reminder of the writing instrument’s German roots.

When a Writing Instrument and a Wristwatch Meet
Writing time was the original idea behind the Nicolas Rieussec timepiece as the first horological creation recording elapsed time using a fixed nib and ink. This year, to pay tribute to Montblanc’s renowned writing instrument and its milestone anniversary, the Maison is releasing a limited edition Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Meisterstück 100 Years that has been inspired by the design codes of the fountain pen.

Limited to 500 pieces, the timepiece comes in a 43mm stainless steel case with an interchangeable black calf leather strap with alligator print. The connection to the Meisterstück can be found in numerous aesthetic details on both the dial side of the timepiece and on its caseback.

The black dial is adorned with luminescent printing that reveals a blueprint of the writing instrument from 1920. The off-centered hours and minutes dial also includes plans in its design, this time from the dimension table of the Montblanc emblem that can be found on the cap of every Meisterstück and on the crown of Montblanc timepieces.

Since the very beginning, the 4810-meter height of the Mont Blanc mountain has been intrinsically connected to the Meisterstück, with the figure ‘4810’ appearing through the years on its packaging, on its cap, and since the 1930s until today, on its nib. This significant number can also be found on the dial of the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Meisterstück 100 Years, with the figures “48” and “10” positioned above the two rotating domed chronograph discs.

The Meisterstück is particularly recognized for its black-and-white aesthetic that is enhanced with golden touches. Likewise, the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Meisterstück 100 Years features a host of golden touches, including a gold-colored bridge between the two rotating domes discs, rose gold-coated Dauphine hour and minute hands, and rose gold-coated Arabic numerals. These gold touches, combined with the stainless steel of the case also recall the bicolour design usually seen on the Meisterstück’s nib.

By turning the timepiece over, the oscillating weight can be observed through the caseback, revealing a specific decoration that is a nod to the world of handwriting with a delicate ‘8’; a symbol inspired by calligraphy movements.

The Choice of Timepiece
The Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph has a close connection to the world of writing as the original horological complication that recorded elapsed time using a fixed nib and ink.

The story started on Saturday, 1st September 1821 at Paris’ Champs-de-Mars horse racing track where Nicolas Rieussec (1781-1866) was testing one of his latest inventions, a timekeeper designed to record the precise times of all the horses as they crossed the finish line. Nicolas Rieussec was not only the sixth royal watchmaker to the King of France; he was also a businessman with an eye for opportunity. Horse races in Paris at this time were big business and being able to scientifically record the winners was a game-changer for the sport.

How did Nicolas Rieussec’s Device Work?
Nicolas Rieussec’s device worked using a fixed nib that would place a drop of ink on two rotating counters (one for the minutes, the other for the seconds) each time a horse crossed the finish line. His invention was a success and a few weeks later, he presented it to the Academy of Sciences in Paris, whose members were fascinated by the timing device and named it a “chronograph” taken from the Greek word “chronos” for time and “graphein” to write. The word chronograph was born and Nicolas Rieussec became the inventor of the world’s first inking chronograph, leaving his mark in the history of fine watchmaking.

The Very First Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Collection
Fast forward to the modern day and the year 2007, when Montblanc unveiled an intriguing wristwatch version of Nicolas Rieussec’s technology, featuring its first in-house movement. The configuration of Rieussec’s design was interpreted with two horizontally aligned chronograph counters, one for elapsed 60 seconds and the other indicating 30 minutes. Instead of each counter being static with its own rotating hand, the counters were the ones to turn and a single index marker placed between the two counters indicated the elapsed time.

In-House Movement
The Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph Nicolas Rieussec is powered by the self-winding Manufacture monopusher chronograph movement MB R200 that was the very first in-house movement by the Maison.

As expected of a Manufacture Chronograph, it is equipped with a column wheel that controls the monopusher mechanism. To improve the chronograph’s start, the connection between the gear train and the chronograph’s wheels is alternately engaged and disengaged by a vertical disc clutch and functions without any wear and tear. This mechanism prevents the elapsed time discs from jumping when the chronograph is switched on. The timepiece features a monopusher, which is ergonomically positioned at 8 o’clock, where the wearer’s thumb can conveniently operate it.

Additionally, a rapid-reset mechanism for the hour and date is practical for travelers who journey from one time zone to another. These indicators can be reset either clockwise or counter-clockwise without affecting the position of the minute-hand. The rate is regulated by a large 10mm-diameter balance wheel with screws, which oscillates regularly thanks to its high moment of inertia (12 mgcm²) and its frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz). The stable rate is further enhanced by the double barrel, providing approx.. 72 hours of power reserve. Furthermore, the balance bridge is open-worked, ensuring the precise positioning of the oscillator for optimal shock resistance.

For those unacquainted with the story, it all starts with a bet between two British gentlemen about whether it is possible to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. The question is raised during a spirited card game of Whist that is being played between the main character Phileas Fogg, a precise and methodical English gentleman, and a companion from his distinguished society – the Reform Club in London. Fogg not only embraces the crazy idea, but also accepts the challenge, embarking on the journey that very evening from Charing Cross railway station, accompanied by his loyal French valet, Jean Passepartout.

This unusual evening marks the start of a truly remarkable journey that contains many unexpected adventures. Along the way, Fogg and Passepartout encounter various obstacles, detours, and even suspicions of criminal activity. The story captures the spirit of exploration of different cultures and a thrilling race against time.

A Race Against the Clock
Just like Fogg and Passepartout, the new 43mm, stainless steel, the Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum Around the World in 80 Days was crafted to accompany adventurers on their journeys around the globe with its in-house worldtime complication that indicates 24 time zones at a glance.

Orbis Terrarum
The term “Orbis Terrarum” comes from the Latin for “circuit of the world” and was the name given to a world map created by the Roman general Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa in the first century AD. Agrippa needed a practical map that could be used for military purposes. Disregarding the elaborate maps previously made by the Greeks, he decided to create a round world map based on surveys of the extensive system of military roads running throughout the Roman empire. The map was sent to all the great cities in the empire, and even if no known copies are believed to have survived, this passion for maps and representations of our planet lives on in the Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum Around the World in 80 Days.

A Journey Across the Dial
Phileas Fogg’s journey is depicted on a multi-layer dial that rotates with the movement mechanism. The dial depicts a world map as seen from the North Pole and uses a gold-colored transfer technique for some of the indications. The key cities on his route – San Francisco, New York, Queens Town, Yokohama, Hong Kong, Calcutta, Bombay, London, Aden, Suez, and Brindisi – are represented by gold dots, while the route itself is mapped out with 80 gold dashes. The names of different cities representing the 24 time zones are written on the dial around the map in white, while London, the city of departure, stands out in gold. The world map is completed with hands inspired by those found on 19th century pocket watches.

The Story Continues
The timepiece pays tribute to this journey around the world in every detail, from the dial to the caseback and even on the lining of the strap. The titanium caseback features a 3D laser engraving that brings both color, depth, and realism to a representation of the majestic and faithful elephant Kiouni who provided transport between Kholby and Allahabad in the novel.

Montblanc uses a special technique to highlight this incredible story, giving it an authentic 3D rendering, as if it was a photograph. Made of titanium, the metal must first be structured, which means that the decoration will be engraved by laser, taking into consideration the relief of the original drawing. Next, the desired finish (matte or shiny) is similarly achieved by laser. In the final phase, colors are created with laser-generated oxidation, with the level of oxidation determining the final result.
The caseback also features imagery of the impressive Allahabad Fort, the emblem of one of the most venerated cities in India, a Mongolian steamboat that provided the transport for Fogg and Passepartout’s adventurers between Italy and India, a traditional Japanese temple called Benten Yokohama that they passed along the way, and a locomotive from the Great Peninsular Railway that took them across the Indian lands. The adventures continue onto the lining of the strap with embossed Chinese coins and Boteh leaves discovered on the 80-day journey.

How to Read the Time Zones
Once set, the user only has to press on the pusher located at eight o’clock until the reference city is at the top. The hour and minute hands will automatically synchronize to indicate the time in the city of choice. There is also a day/night indicator that works with a rotating disc that changes from light blue (for daylight hours) to dark blue (for the night), giving an overview of the passage of the sun around the planet.

Housed in a 43mm titanium case with a shield protecting the screw-down crown, this new diving watch comes with a caseback adorned with a 3D engraving of the view divers see when diving underneath the ice. This mesmerizing effect is created in a three-dimensional colored relief that is achieved by a process of laser-generated oxidization that structures the metal with both matte and shiny finishes to create contrasts of color and texture.

More than a Dial
Like with all the Iced Sea timepieces, the Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810 dial was inspired by the ice of one of the Mont Blanc mountain’s largest glaciers – the Mer de Glace – with its interlocking network of crystals that have been frozen in time for millennia, giving each dial the impression of genuine depth and luminosity. This creative technique is called gratté-boisé and is not only special in watchmaking, but takes four times longer to make than a standard dial. The blue color is accentuated with a sfumato effect and depicts the tone of ice found deep under the sea, which is especially fitting for a watch that can descend to 4810 meters beneath the water.

As the timepiece needs to be visible in all conditions, Montblanc has incorporated white Super-LumiNova® into the hands, indexes and a dot at 12 o’clock which all glow in a luminescent shade of blue in low light, in keeping with the glacial theme.

Zero Oxygen
The Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810 joins the Maison’s series of “Zero Oxygen” timepieces that feature several benefits for explorers who need their equipment to work in harsh environments. Zero oxygen inside the case not only eliminates fogging, which can occur with drastic temperature changes, but also prevents oxidization. Without oxygen, all the components last longer and will provide continued precision over time. All the Details
Powered by Montblanc’s manufacture, COSC-certified, automatic MB 29.29 movement, with approx. five days of power reserve, this deep diving timepiece indicates the hours, minutes, seconds, and a date at 3 o’clock. A New Limited Edition
Montblanc returns with a new 1858 Unveiled Minerva Monopusher Chronograph, showcasing more fascinating details to be discovered. This new limited edition sees the addition of five apertures into the case band, allowing light to flood into the hand-finished manually wound movement. Montblanc’s designers have taken a truly architectural approach to the entire timepiece in order to create a play of light and depth flowing through the movement constructed on pillars, so that the wearer can fully admire the 291 components via five different crystal windows.

For the delight of those peering into the depths of the movement, this latest limited edition comes with a new movement, the Calibre MB M17.26. Like the Calibre MB M16.26 that equipped the previous versions, this monopusher calibre has been flipped over to display all the mechanical action on the dial side of the watch. At first glance, the viewer may think it is a skeletonized movement, but a closer look reveals that this chronograph movement is on full display on the dial side of the watch.

In order to let the eye delve deeper into the movement and enjoy the craftsmanship of the individual components, the chronograph complication of the Calibre MB M17.26 has been constructed on pillars, allowing the light to flood in. The chronograph bridge has also been put on top of the movement to highlight this distinctive component, the specific design of which was patented in 1912. Adding another modern twist to the timepiece, the German silver plates and bridges have been colored in a contemporary blue, providing a contrast with the rest of the movement, yet matching the tone of the blue sfumato calf leather strap.

This new limited edition comes in a 43mm stainless steel case with an elegant horizontal satin finishing. It is fitted with a white gold fluted bezel that has been inspired by Minerva’s first fluted bezel dating back to 1927, adding a touch of finesse to the model.

In keeping with all Montblanc’s complicated movements, the distinctive Minerva arrow and the Maison’s “V”-shaped bridge are also on display. No Distractions
Particular attention has been paid to the indications so that they don’t distract from the movement with a sapphire crystal dial, an open-worked 30-minute chronograph counter, an open-worked small seconds display, and elegant hands and indexes that have been created with Super-LumiNova® for enhanced legibility.

Montblanc’s 1858 Collection timepieces have been designed as tool watches for mountain exploration, taking inspiration from the legendary Minerva pocket watches and chronographs from the 1920’s and 1930’s originally conceived for military use thanks to their precision and robustness. A Middle Case Material Containing CO2
Montblanc’s new watch case material is created using a pioneering process that captures CO2 from biogas production and mineral waste produced by recycling factories, thanks to a process of calcium dissolution and carbonation.

The obtained powder containing CO2 – CACO3 – is then combined with ultra-light and resistant carbon fibre. Together, they create an innovative composite material, the CARBO2, which is shaped into a watch middle case.

In addition to the technological aspect of the case, the resulting CARBO2 material has a graphic aesthetic, with its dark shades depending on the particular mix of carbon fibre and CACO3, lending itself well to the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen. Like the fearless alpinists and adventurers who dedicate their lives to exploring the planet’s mountainous wilderness, this material is also opening up new paths of exploration.

Reinforcing the theme of adventure, the 43.5mm titanium and CARBO2 case comes with an engraved luminous blue outline of the Mont Blanc Mountain on the side that only the timepiece’s wearer can see. The older glaciers are, the less oxygen they contain and the denser they become, resulting in a deeper blue color that has been depicted on the case band – shining white by day and luminous blue by night. To achieve such a result, Super-LumiNova® and a layer of protective varnish are applied by hand with particular care. An image of the Mont Blanc mountain also adorns the titanium caseback, created using Montblanc’s 3D laser technique that depicts the color, depth and realism of this natural wonder.

The timepiece comes with a bi-directional titanium ceramic fluted bezel with blue luminescent cardinal points and a blue gasket under the sapphire crystal. It is fitted with a black sfumato glacier pattern dial that captures the texture of glacial ice with its interlocking network of crystals that have been frozen in time for millennia. Crafted using a special technique called gratté-boisé, this dial process takes four times longer than standard techniques.

To pay homage to its namesake mountain, Montblanc uses a special technique to create an authentic 3D rendering that provides depth and realism. Made of titanium, the metal must first be structured, which means that the decoration will be engraved by laser, taking into consideration the relief of the original drawing. Next, the desired finish (matte and shiny) is similarly achieved by laser. In the final phase, colors are created with laser-generated oxidation, with the level of oxidation determining the final result.

Completing the timepiece is a black interchangeable rubber strap featuring a taper and a fine adjustment system, with the pattern reminiscent of the textiles used by mountaineers.

12th January 2023 – The 18th Antarctic Ice Marathon took place on 13th December 2023 at 80 degrees south, just a few hundred miles from the South Pole at the foot of the Ellsworth Mountains. Fifty-two men and 14 women lined up at the start line for what is one of the most challenging, remote, and inhospitable running races on the planet.

Among the competitors were Montblanc’s Managing Director for the Watch Division Laurent Lecamp and Montblanc Mark Maker Simon Messner. Laurent is a seasoned trail and marathon runner, but this was the first time Simon had attempted this legendary distance. Simon did have an advantage, however, in that his love for mountaineering made him no stranger to the extreme weather conditions and barren terrain the duo were to encounter. Running together, with Laurent setting the pace, they crossed the finish line, hand-in-hand, in 4 hours and 29 seconds, taking 7th place – a double accomplishment.

In addition to this athletic endeavor, they were also testing one of the latest timepieces launched by Montblanc – the 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South Pole Limited Edition. This was a fitting timepiece for Simon to wear as it was created in celebration of his father, Reinhold Messner, who was the first person to scale all 14 of the world’s highest peaks and the first to cross the South Pole on foot – a voyage that he undertook in 1990, covering 2,800 km in 96 days.

The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South Pole Limited Edition is part of Montblanc’s Zero Oxygen series that was designed to withstand extreme conditions and prevent fogging and oxidization. The timepiece features Montblanc’s glacier dial which, in this edition, comes in a turquoise color. This blue tone is reminiscent of the color of the icebergs and glacial ice found at the South Pole. From a technical standpoint, the dial takes four times longer to make than a standard dial, but results in enhanced depth and luminosity.

This 1990-piece limited edition timepiece is housed in an ultralight 42 mm titanium case and comes with an interchangeable tapered bracelet and a grey textile strap. It is powered by the Maison’s Manufacture Calibre MB 29.25 that features a worldtime complication and a 42-hour power reserve. Montblanc has unveiled a brand-new Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph limited edition of the historic model that began as a timekeeper on Paris’ famous Champs-de-Mars horse racing  track in 1821, and has continued to be a sought-after timepiece by collectors around the world. The GCC Region Chronograph, limited to just 50 pieces, includes distinctive references to countries  in the Middle East’s GCC region, where the spirit and legacy of horse racing and fine watchmaking is equally cherished.

The exclusive collection is a beautiful continuation of the Maison’s renowned “inking” chronograph, which was updated in 2022 in a new 43mm case size, and is now presented in this highly  contemporary design in a stainlesssteel case with black DLC coating, a multi-layered anthracite dial, and refined touches of dark green.

Combining finishes and textures that play with the light, the timepiece features a graphic anthracite Clou de Paris base plate, with added anthracite sub dials that stand out with their sunray  finishing. Following the release of two new Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph models in a smaller 43mm case size in 2022, Montblanc returns with two new contemporary interpretations of the special model that are a beautiful continuation of this timekeeping story.

The first is a limited edition of 500 pieces in a stainless steel case with a black DLC coating and an anthracite dial, and the second, unlimited edition, comes in stainless steel with a deep blue dial  with rhodium-coated hands and counters.

How It Started

The story started on Saturday 1st September 1821 at Paris’s famous Champs-de-Mars horse racing track where Nicolas Rieussec was testing one of his latest inventions, a timekeeper designed to  record the precise times of all the horses as they crossed the finish line.

Nicolas Rieussec (1781-1866) was not only the sixth royal watchmaker to the King of France; he was also a businessman with an eye for opportunity. Horse races in Paris at this time were big  business and being able to scientifically record the winners would be a gamechanger for the sport.

How Did Nicolas Rieussec’s Device Work?

Nicolas Rieussec’s device worked using a fixed nib that would place a drop of ink on two rotating counters (one for the minutes, the other for the seconds) each time a horse crossed the finish line. His invention was a success and a few weeks later, he presented it to the Academy of Sciences in Paris, whose members were fascinated by the timing device and named it a “chronograph,” taken from the Greek word chronos for time and graphein to write. The word chronograph was born and Nicolas Rieussec became the inventor of the world’s first inking chronograph, marking the history of fine watchmaking.

The Very First Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Collection

Fast forward to the modern day and the year 2007, Montblanc unveiled an intriguing wristwatch version of Nicolas Rieussec’s technology, featuring its first in-house movement. The configuration of Rieussec’s design was interpreted with two horizontally aligned chronograph counters, one for elapsed 60 seconds and the other indicating 30 minutes. Instead of each counter being static with its own rotating hand, the counters were the ones to turn and a single index marker placed between the two counters indicated the elapsed time.

A New Era

Over the years, Montblanc has presented an array of different iterations of the design with different materials, finishings and colors. This year, the classic timepiece returns with two new looks.  One comes in a stainless steel case with a black DLC coating, anthracite-colored dial, and rose gold-coated hands and indexes, while the second has been designed with a stainless steel case and a  deep blue dial with rhodium-coated hands and indexes. Both new models feature several details that reinforce the historical Paris connection, where the story first began.

The Parisian Connection

There are a number of elements that celebrate The City of Light. Firstly, there is a graphic Clous de Paris motif on the dial (replacing the previous Grain d’Orge design) a traditional design that  originates from the geometric design of Paris’s cobbled streets. The motif, not uncommon in fine watchmaking, is continued onto the textile strap and the oscillating weight, which is quite unusual, and enhances the contemporary aesthetic of the timepiece.

Other modern details include open-worked indexes, dynamic dauphine hands with Super-LumiNova, baton indexes, a black semi-transparent sapphire crystal on the caseback, blued screws on  the movement, and strong color contrasts between the different elements on each dial. Completing the Paris connection, a mention in French of the “Académie des Sciences de Paris” is engraved  on the flange, as a reminder that the academy validated Rieussec’s invention in 1821. The name “Chronographe Nicolas Rieussec” is also engraved at 12 o’clock.

In-House Movement

As a stylistic detail, the original M LOCK 4810 buckle has been redesigned in a silver color with black detailing for this capsule. We knew immediately that we wanted to collaborate  for a special edition for the club that will be the first of its kind in our region- hence the 1858 Geosphere O oxygen AWC edition is born

At first we had high ambitions to be able to replicate the case back engraving on the dial side but we knew this would be far fetched because the dial has little room for manoeuvre so we opted for a different design direction to make it more achievable.

1-Design

It was clear from the start that we wanted the case to be in bronze : first, it would be the club first bronze watch since inception and second the contrast of colors we had in mind specially for the case back would work best on bronze

The dial had to be reworked entirely to reflect all consistent eastern Arabic numerals on all subdials, hemispheres dates and indexes.It was a fully customized dial. The color was chosen to be fume grey to reflect more the warmth color of our region with hints of Golden/Yellowsh colors around the numerals, hemispheres and out ring, and a small touch of orange on the dual time hand.

This would be the first edition will full Eastern Arabic numeral on such model by Montblanc – the consistency on the dial was very important for us to achieve as many brands tend to miss out on that in their Middle East editions.

2- Case back

Now let’s talk about the most interesting element in the watch- the case back is the art scene of the watch using the proprietary technique of engraving on titanium created by MB.

Ou initial design was different because we wanted to include a scenic view of all iconic buildings in our region however lP rights for each building made this hard to achieve, so we switched to our current design and I am glad we did as it turned out to be even better.

The current design is the topographic map of the Arabian peninsula viewed from above showing the different terrains we live in as members of the club -the map includes all the countries we live in currently – the case back colors have a certain warmth to them with the oceans breaking in between and most important the arabic falcon flying over with his shadow on Saudi Arabia.

Surrounding the titanium on the side of the case, the cities of the club members residences are written in Arabic and each member’s name is engraved on the top left side -the bottom side has the name of the club and the number of the watch out of 40.

3 – Delivery

All watches have been allocated to the club member however for the first time we have kept 15 watches to MB VIP lists for them to participate in the project -we wanted to share the success and joy with the hardcore Montblanc fans that would enjoy and appreciate this unique design.

All watches are prepared and delivered to all collectors in a private event in Dubai to celebrate in October 2023 – the delivery of the project was relatively fast for about 8 months from first booking to delivery

The prototype of the watch has been showcasing in the Dubai  mall boutique for anyone to check it out and try it.
