The spirit of the 21st Century Collection

When Piaget introduced its 21st Century Collection in 1969, composed of cuff watches and sautoirs, it redefined what a watch could be. These were not mere timepieces, but wearable works of art. A watch transformed into a swinging expression of time, blending Piaget’s heritage of gold craftsmanship, ornamental stones, and daring design into a revolution which has since changed the face of watchmaking.

Throughout the 1970s, Valentin Piaget worked closely with visionary designers such as Jean-Claude Gueit to bring this artistry to life in a spontaneous way. Piaget crafted extraordinary, one-of-a-kind pieces for a clientele that valued this distinction, joyful creativity and audacity. Watches were not only to be seen, but also to be felt, with shapes, colors and textures forming an emotional connection with their wearer. These Swinging Sautoirs were the perfect embodiment of Piaget’s free spirit, infused with the energy and optimism of the 1970s. Time became movement, flowing gracefully across ornamental stone dials, suspended from luminous gold chains that draped, twisted, and danced with every gesture. With these fluid gold chains, ornamental stone dials, and tactile design, the Swinging Sautoir became a Piaget signature. As Yves Piaget used to say : “A watch is first and foremost a piece of jewellery”.

In this same spirit, Piaget’s artisans explored new forms throughout the decade, crafting for instance some Kimono pocket watches in 1974, sculpted from malachite and defined by their soft, asymmetrical shapes. Smooth and organic, this pebble shape fit naturally in the hand, a sensorial expression of Piaget’s organic, yet forward-looking design language. Piaget continued to explore other shapes and expressions—coins, ingots, envelopes—transforming everyday motifs into precious creations.

A new generation of Swinging Sautoirs

Today for Watches and Wonders 2026, Piaget channels that same creative energy into a new collection of modern Swinging Sautoirs, named Swinging Pebbles, seamlessly carved from a trio of ornamental stones: tiger’s eye, verdite, or pietersite. Each pendant watch is sculpted from a single slice of stone, delicately hollowed out to house a Manufacture movement before being closed to form a smooth, pebble case. Each pendant hangs from a sinuous, twisted gold chain, tribute to Piaget’s expertise in goldsmithing and chainmaking for the daily life. Reinterpreted with a modern sensibility, these new Swinging Sautoirs offer a refined entry into Piaget’s world of artistry and movement. Together, they represent the continuation of Piaget’s legacy of innovation: bold, tactile, and joyfully unconventional.

Mastery igniting artistry

For Piaget, time has always been more than a measure, it’s also a movement, a rhythm, a dance. The Swinging Pebbles embody this philosophy once again : watches which celebrate shapes, craftsmanship, and freedom. The seamless harmony of gold, ornamental stones, and timekeeping reflects Piaget’s unrivaled mastery of each.

Across jewellery, cuffs, and sautoirs, Piaget’s signature spirit remains unmistakable. Bold yet refined, playful yet precise. Always unusual. Always unexpected. The new pebble-shaped Swinging Sautoirs capture this spirit in a contemporary timepiece. True to its heritage yet resolutely contemporary, Piaget continues to blur the boundaries between jewellery and watchmaking—honoring its past while shaping the art of time for today.

If the art of Extraleganza – the subtle encounter between elegance and extravagance that so perfectly defines Piaget’s bold style – lies in the finest of details, then gadroons are its perfect epitome. Far more than just simple striations, this decorative feature brings a touch of signature sophistication to Piaget watches. Showcasing sensational materials and a subtle play on depth, it enhances the shape and reveals the true beauty of every Piaget Polo timepiece. From 1979 to 2026, gadroons have reigned supreme on the Piaget Polo 79. Now, they are also making an appearance on the iconic Piaget Polo Date, specially redesigned for the occasion.

Heart of Stone
While the 1970s saw the advent of a wave of sport-chic watches chiselled in steel, Piaget made history with a watch launched in 1979, which stood out for its unique style and its model name (a first for the Maison): the Piaget Polo. Fully forged in gold, this timepiece quickly made a name for itself as an avant-garde icon, defying the prevailing style codes of its time. A keen horse rider, Yves G. Piaget fused his love of polo and of high society into a watch that came to define 80s glamour, which could be worn just as easily in Palm Beach clubs as at Chez Régine in New York. “The entire philosophy behind the Piaget Polo can be summed up in a single sentence: it is a bracelet featuring a watch, not a watch featuring a bracelet…”, as Yves G. Piaget liked to say. With its hundreds of grams of gold, its distinctive design and its elegance, it won over the general public and the jet set of the era, from Ursula Andress to Andy Warhol.

Highly versatile, the Piaget Polo 79 has taken on multiple variations over the years, right up until this season, when it returns in a two-tone version, still in 38 mm, powered by the ultra-thin self-winding movement 1200P1. Following on from the success of the Piaget Polo 79 in yellow gold, white gold and now in two golds, the Piaget Polo 79 is now being adorned with another of the Maison’s signatures: ornamental stone. Previously, the model showcased onyx and lapis lazuli; today, for the very first time, ornamental stone features in the contemporary range on a precious sodalite version. The contrasting mineral dial highlights the uniqueness of the gadroons so beloved by Maison Piaget.

An Elevated Duo
In 2024, Maison Piaget celebrated its 150th anniversary, a historic milestone that was the perfect opportunity to revive a tradition cherished by Mr Yves Piaget himself: the couple’s watch, the same creation designed for him and for her in an endlessly versatile form. Two years later, this iconic approach continues with a new highly desirable edition replicating the signature gadroons of the Piaget Polo 79, which elevate the timepieces in this Piaget Polo collection adapted for everyday wear. Combining the brilliant gadroons that brought fame to the historic Piaget Polo with the sport-chic allure of the iconic Piaget Polo Date, this duo is enhanced by a silver-coloured dial – a nod to the Maison’s timeless elegance. The interchangeable rubber strap (available in beige for the 36 mm version adorned with 96 brilliant-cut diamonds, or in khaki green for the 42 mm variation) and the subtle nod to the codes of the 1979 Piaget Polo firmly root this offering in the here and now, while thoroughly complying with the style codes that have forged Piaget’s identity for decades.

A New Face
To mark the 2026 edition of Watches and Wonders, the Maison has therefore applied the charm of its signature gadroons to a new white gold Piaget Polo 79 with a sodalite dial and to a stylish couple’s watch. It is also offering a new take on the spirit of its beloved Piaget Polo Signature Date. The interplay of hypnotic graphic lines created by the Piaget Polo 79’s signature gadroons now features on the entire range of blue Piaget Polo dials, joined by two new gold creations in the 42 mm case size (steel or rose gold case, interchangeable rubber strap or steel bracelet, gem-set or non-set dial), as well as by three 36 mm versions: steel case and gem-set indexes, gem-set bezel and indexes, as well as a precious version in rose gold with a bezel and indexes set with diamonds. This new face showcases Piaget’s iconic blue, elevating the Piaget Polo Signature collection’s harmonious blend of shapes – a round case with a cushion cut.
Forever defined by its finesse, another of the Maison’s historic signatures, the 2026 Piaget Polo collection demonstrates, now more than ever, its unique ability to transcend time. A cultural style icon created in the late 1970s for a new aristocracy that was revolutionising the codes of elegance and distinction, it still continues to embody quintessential casual chic. Now more than ever, it is staying true to its roots.

Ever since 1963, when Piaget dared to dress watch dials in vibrant ornamental stones such as lapis lazuli, turquoise, malachite or tiger’s eye, the Maison has been famed for its wayward way with colour, an essential element of Extraleganza. Unexpected jolts of bold colour, of pop-art-inspired mother-of-pearl and onyx, or modernist, graphic compositions of lapis lazuli and jade, intensified the shock of the new delivered by Piaget’s milestone launch in1969 of the 21st Century Collection, which transformed the jewellery watch into a contemporary artwork and a cultural icon.

Now, for 2026, as Piaget delves even deeper into its heritage, connecting past and present times, to renew its creative spirit of timeless modernity, the Art of Colour is reignited, through an exploration of new and intriguing varieties of ornamental stones, set in characteristically audacious style throughout the year’s new timepieces.

The story of colour
Piaget’s fascination with ornamental stones began in 1963, when Gérald and Valentin Piaget, grandsons of the founder, Georges-Édouard Piaget, were in the process of transforming the Swiss company into an international Maison, with a modern, fashion-forward approach, specialising in both jewellery and watchmaking. A process made possible by the decision taken in 1957 to work only in precious metals and materials, and the invention of the groundbreaking 9P ultra-thin movement, which liberated design and creativity. This revolutionary movement meant that dials could be larger and then adorned with ornamental stones while maintaining the watch (legendary) thinness. The dial became the decorative focal point of the design, claimed by Piaget as the new territory of creative expression.

In 1963, Piaget launched a series of gold jewellery watches with dials of ornamental stones, for both men and women, at a time when fashion was alive with colour, with youth-fuelled exuberance and the influence of art was everywhere. This was a bold pioneering move, especially as at the time most watchmakers were turning to steel, to democratise and broaden their markets, and Piaget was elevating the timepiece into a jewelled object of desire. The gold bracelets of the new watches, jewels in their own right, were meticulously hand-crafted by the skilled artisans of the House of Gold, as Piaget came to be known. They could be intricately woven from gold strands, becoming as supple as silk, or textured with hand-engraving, particularly of the one now named Decor Palace, in harmony with the ornamental stones.

Gold, glamour and the cult of distinction
As it turned out, Piaget’s timing was perfect; the new watches captured the mood of the moment, anticipating and responding to the dramatic social and cultural shifts that were to define the 1960s and 70s. The casual opulence of the watches, their nonchalant richness, the freedom from formality, all catered to the tastes of a younger, newly-wealthy, luxury-loving clientele, including the media, art and movie-world celebrities who were to become members of the Piaget Society, Yves Piaget’s international circle of famous jet-set friends. At the same time, ornamental stones, with their natural markings, exuded an earthiness that chimed with the prevailing interest in the natural world. There was a touch too of the otherworldly or supernatural about their wondrous primal beauty that resonated with the futurism of the ‘60s.

The success of these models encouraged Piaget to pursue their pioneering path of innovation and ingenuity. The variety of ornamental stones enabled the Maison to open the door to personalisation, once again anticipating the cult of individuality that dominated the late 20th century design world. The Style Selector, introduced in the mid-1960s, offered a demi-bespoke service, allowing the client to compose her own jewellery watch, from a choice of gold bracelet, a dial either in gold or in one of the ornamental stones – tiger’s eye, lapis lazuli, malachite, opal, mother-of-pearl, coral, rhodonite or ruby root – and different styles of roman or Arabic numerals. Finally, there was a choice of cut and size of the diamonds for the bezel encircling the case and dial.

Since then, Piaget’s art of colour has continued to gather momentum, along with its mastery of skills, of cutting, slicing, polishing ornamental stones. Exceptional skill and mastery of material and technique are required to cut the stones to the required thinness (down to 0.4 mm) and precision of form, and then polish them to a glossy sheen, to bring out the individual markings; the jeopardy in the process means there is a high risk of breakage.

2026, a living legacy
Today, Piaget’s Art of Colour shines out through three striking colourways that connect to the Maison’s history. On one side, the shades of blue, a tribute to Piaget’s signature colour, which now adorn the Sixtie on a strap, the Piaget Polo 36mm in pink gold or the Andy Warhol watch with a set of blue quartz dials. Another Andy Warhol model, sought-after collector’s item, offers a choice of dial and case: a warm, reddish brown bull’s eye, with shimmering chatoyancy, in a studded Clou de Paris case, launched in 2024 in a white gold version.

Following the reintroduction of the cuff watches and Swinging Sautoirs in 2023, a new High Jewellery adaptation of the Sixtie reinvents the iconic 1970s cuff watch using one of Yves Piaget’s favourite stone to echo the Piaget Society, the opal with its many hues, within the softly contoured trapezoid form of the Sixtie. The playful asymmetry hand-engraved with Piaget’s famous Decor Palace. Reigniting this spark of self-expression, Piaget also reinvents the 1972 Kimono pocket watch as three Swinging Pebbles necklaces. Each of the three sculptural, asymmetrical, pebble-shaped watches, swinging on hand-made twisted gold chain, is expertly carved from an ornamental stone, golden tiger’s eye, grass green verdite or pietersite, the case and dial fully integrated into the stone, turning the watch into a tactile, personal treasure.

But Maison Piaget also celebrates its High Watchmaking by introducing The Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon, now integrating an ornamental stone into its record-breaking 2mm profile. The stones are mounted on components integral to the movement, necessitating a cleaning process to remove residues without causing any damage to the stones. An operation performed using a 0.15mm needle (the finest utilized by Piaget), which demands exceptionally careful handling and meticulous assembly. The rich mellow brown model, with pink gold, incorporates honey-hued tiger’s eye, and reprising the 1960s Style Selector, the Maison also offers a choice of case, of four colours, and a choice of four ornamental stones, tiger’s eye, blue sodalite, jade, and onyx, along with other personalised details. A fittingly thrilling, characteristically audacious finale to Piaget’s 2026 rich legacy of ornamental stones.

A year ago, for Watches and Wonders 2025, Piaget deep dived into the Maison’s rich archives with a brand new jewellery watch collection with a reimagined shape and allure. Plunging into the late 60’s, this case is a generous, yet femininely proportioned trapezoid, evocative of the era’s nickname “the Swinging Sixties”. A new design watch, simply named Sixtie for its origins, and for the simplicity of its function – to mark sixty seconds, sixty times an hour. Today, Sixtie anchors itself in new territory and straps in for the launch of its two new versions, deep into the blue.

SHAPE SHIFTER

The unveiling of Piaget’s 21st Century collection in Basel in 1969 was a watershed moment for both watches and jewellery, a moment when the distinction between a watch and a piece of jewellery bent like a mirage, shimmering in perpetual movement, the two disciplines no longer disparate. Under the eye of designer Jean-Claude Gueit, Piaget timepieces throughout the 60s and 70s became jewellery pieces without limits, their faces wrought in ornamental stones of dazzling colour, their shapes exaggerated as ovals, rounds, and cushion, and that now iconic trapeze. Their homes? Long, naval-skimming sautoirs, forearm spanning cuffs, golden cages or engraved bracelets for daily life, softly resting on the wrist. The era became defined by the play of shapes, colours, and textures, the gold intricately tooled to evoke the sparkle of light on water, the texture of wood, the graphic shapes of architectural building blocks. The expression of telling the time was no longer stagnant, but static and ever-changing. The rigour of a timepiece met the fluidity of a jewel – at once constant in its role, yet ethereal in its form. Time telling in the hands of Piaget had thrown off all constraints, and danced into a new, avant garde world of time-telling jewels.

ADORNED TIMES

The brand new Sixtie, launched in 2025, celebrated its origins : a jewel to grace the wrist, no longer defined purely by its role as a timepiece but its position in the pantheon of Piaget’s iconic jewellery watches as conceived in the 1960s – a timepiece as fluid as a jewel, its lines unmistakeably feminine yet with a wink to its masculine counterpart also adorned with gadroons, the more symmetrical cushion-shaped Andy Warhol watch.

Forgoing the precious metal bracelet of the original, these two new versions see the Sixtie anchor itself in the most maritime of hues, on deep blue alligator straps calibrated for all times. Chicly unembellished, the gently gleaming, dark blue strap accentuates he minutely detailed gadroons that swoop around the bezel, each one individually etched into soft, satiny pink gold, the perfect foil to the strap’s depth of colour. Linked by the new ardillon buckle, also trapeze shaped and decorated with the same sweeping gadroons, the blue straps encase two variations of dial; the first, a silvered solar satin brushed dial, sprinkled with golden roman numeral markers. A bright light against a deeper, darker hue. The second, in keeping with Piaget’s prowess with ornamental stone dials, unveils a face in blue quartz. Exceptionally hard to maximise longevity, the material is also distinct in its markings – a rich, marbled blue veined with darker streaks, each one entirely unique and perfectly in tune with the blue alligator strap. A new blue dial to echo the vibrant turquoise dial which was unveiled in 2025, marking again the fusion between the best of both worlds: dressing the jewellery watch in a magnetic ornamental stone dial. The result? Chic, distinctive, and effortless.

Piaget unveils a new addition combining yellow and white gold in
a striking interpretation which honors both the original 1979 design, spirit, sophistication and the Maison’s uncompromising commitment
to precious metal excellence.

Because Piaget only measures time in gold.

For Piaget, gold is and has always been a source of creativity. In 1969, the Maison unveiled the 21st Century Collection, a series of avant-garde gold jewellery watches – between cuff watches and Swinging Sautoirs- a perfect marriage of
its history in watchmaking and High Jewellery. Gold has always been central to Piaget: melted in-house at its Geneva foundry, it became a canvas for both
watches and jewellery creations. The 1970s saw the arrival of elegant, steel sports watches, but there was nothing like the Piaget Polo—a sports elegant watch, fully casted in gold. A passionate equestrian, Yves Piaget fused his love of polo and the high life into a watch that came to define the glamour of the 1980s, worn as naturally at Palm Beach polo clubs, as at Chez Regine in New York. “A bracelet watch and a watch bracelet” as he used to say.

A LEGACY REIMAGINED
In 2024, 45 years after its debut, the original Piaget Polo was reborn as the Piaget Polo 79 for the 150th anniversary of the Maison. Awarded “Iconic Watch” at the GPHG in 2024, the renaissance began with the icon’s return in radiant yellow gold, followed in 2025 by the refined white gold iteration that offers enhanced versatility. Now in 2026, Piaget introduces the “Two-Tone”– a harmonious marriage of precious metals which recalls one of the Piaget Polo’s original
1979 configurations, designed for connoisseurs who demand distinction and wearability.

The new Polo 79 “Two-Tone” represents more than just a simple combination of metals; it embodies Piaget’s philosophy that “time should only be measured in gold”. This philosophy, deeply rooted in its DNA since 1957, continues to drive creativity while respecting the timeless codes which make the Piaget Polo an icon. True to Piaget’s signature Extraleganza style, the Piaget Polo 79 Two-Tone showcases its mastery of gold craftsmanship. The brushed white gold case and integrated bracelet are dramatically punctuated by the gadroons in polished yellow gold. This careful interplay of metals creates visual depth and texture
while maintaining the Piaget Polo’s signature style. The solid gold dial seamlessly integrates the same philosophy, with brushed yellow gold hands offering a final touch of refinement.

ULTRA-THIN MASTERY

Within the Piaget Polo 79 Two-Tone beats the caliber 1200P1, Piaget’s ultra-thin micro-rotor mechanical movement measuring just 2.35mm in thickness.
This technical achievement ensures the watch maintains the silky, elegant profile on the wrist that has become synonymous with Piaget’s approach to luxury sports elegance. The movement is just the latest evolution in Piaget’s celebrated legacy of ultra-thin watchmaking—an expertise that has distinguished its manufacture for generations. Combined with the 38mm case and fully integrated bracelet design, the result is an exceptionally comfortable watch that adapts gracefully
to a variety of wrist sizes and occasions. This thoughtful execution demonstrates how Piaget has consistently created watches that capture the essence of their era while maintaining their unmistakable character.

A RETURN TO ORIGINS
The Piaget Polo 79 Two-Tone represents a pure expression of the original Piaget Polo design, thoughtfully updated for the contemporary connoisseur.
While Piaget offered a two-tone configuration from the very beginning in 1979, these timepieces are rarely seen today—once the preferred choice of the stylish who demanded a unique blend of elegance and everyday wearability.
To the casual observer, the interplay of brushed white gold and yellow gold might even suggest stainless steel. But this was never the case from the House of Gold, where precious metals remained the only acceptable canvas for horological artistry. The Two-Tone’s revival speaks to modern collectors’ evolving appreciation for watches that balance sporting spirit with refined versatility. For those who embody Piaget’s everyday Extraleganza—where style, sport, and elegance meet.

Piaget unveils a new playful High Jewellery collection and reinvents the Maison’s connections to art and design.
Shapes of Extraleganza, delves deep into the daring, shapeshifting, playful elegance that is the essence of the Maison’s unmistakable style. Following last year’s Essence of Extraleganza, this is the second in a trilogy of collections exploring Piaget’s creative roots in the 1960s and 70s, maximising and modernising concepts, pushing boundaries of both design and craftsmanship, challenging preconceptions, reinvigorating the Maison’s original audacity and bold ingenuity.

Shapes of Extraleganza tells of Piaget’s powerful connection to art and artists, paying homage to the Maison’s celebrated collaborations with Salvador Dali, Arman or famous collectors like Andy Warhol. Collaborations that grew, naturally, out of Yves Piaget’s personal friendships with artists, and the intellectual and artistic luminaries of the day who made up his inner circle, known as the Piaget Society. These collaborations, fuelled by Yves Piaget’s vision, together with the inventiveness of the Piaget creative studio, the genius of Jean-Claude Gueit, celebrated watch designer, and the skills of Piaget artisans, elevated the jewel to an entirely new status within the world of art and design.

Piaget’s milestone 21st Century Collection of jewellery watches, launched in Basel in 1969, captured the heady ferment of social upheaval, art, design, fashion, architecture, the new freedom of expression of the age. Today, Shapes of Extraleganza pulsates with the same eServescence and exhilaration, revelling in the avant-garde, presenting jewels of striking modernity and cultural relevance, ready to take their place in contemporary art and design.

Unexpected encounters
The 2025 High Jewellery collection in the Extraleganza series deep dives into the Piaget’s heritage. Experimental, unexpected yet with warm echoes of familiarity, Shapes of Extraleganza is a study in form, colour, texture, light and volume, a supremely sophisticated evolution of Piaget’s high-energy play of shapes. Shapes within shapes, squares, triangles, zig zags, waves, circles, interlocked, overlaid, jostling joyfully in sculptural and conceptual, highly stylised compositions that perfectly harmonise fluidity and precision. Through 51 creations, Piaget plays with graphic lines, geometric angles, sliver-like triangles, as well as organic free form shapes and sensual curves, while referencing Pop Art, Op Art, the swirling psychedelic patterns of 70s fashion or the generously rounded, plump contours of 60s design icons. Reflecting the high-low cultural mix that characterised 1970s society, High Jewellery meets Pop Culture.

Each suite of jewels expresses a diSerent artistic expression, each melting time into a perfect intermingling of past and present, history and modernity, and as always spiced with Piaget’s seductive, surprising glimpse into the future. Most set includes a watch, showcasing Piaget’s dual mastery, the perfect balance between High Jewellery and Haute Horlogerie as Piaget fuses exceptional watchmaking, in the form of thrilling complications, with adventurous fashion-forward artistry.

In the same spirit of subversive playfulness, Shapes of Extraleganza mixes and mingles signature Piaget techniques and materials. The ornamental stones first seen on watch dials of the ‘60s are now conjured into the vibrantly hued Op Art-inspired linear mosaics of the Kaleidoscope Lights suite, comprising a dramatic striped collar, long drop banded earrings, ring and watch with a sun-ray-like dial. In a virtuoso performance of lapidary art, a variety of ornemental or minerals stones, including unusual specimens, such as rhodochrosite, sugilite and verdite, have been meticulously carved into curved slices of diSering thicknesses and then miraculously fitted in precise striped alignment. The ‘back-to-nature’ movement of the 1970s is channelled through the organic, free-form design of the Flowing Curves suite, the spectacular collection of rare black opals embedded in richly textured hand-hammered white gold, presenting a new goldsmithing technique, from the House of Gold, to add to the famous Decor Palace.

The set pays homage to Yves Piaget’s passion for opals, in which, he said, he could see the whole world, “made of diSerent tastes and sensibilities.” Exquisite gemstones, expertly selected not only for their beauty and rarity but for their artistic contribution to each theme, play a vital role in exuberant compositions of colour, light and shape.

Rare and ravishing red and orangy-pink spinels take centre stage in the Wave Illusion suite, inspired by the pop colours, naïve geometric lines and sheer childlike joy of the early 1980s Memphis movement. Radiant sun-yellow sapphires sit at the heart of the candy-coloured Curved Artistry suite, which features a secret ring watch, a Piaget signature from the 1940s. The diamond-paved dial is hidden beneath a translucent cabochon aquamarine. Hypnotic Colombian emeralds ooze glamour and seduction in the Gleaming Shapes and Arty Pop suites. The dazzling swirls that ripple right across the supple bracelets and dials of the two Joyful Twirls cuS watches are alive with the colour and light of artfully pavé-set gems; two shades of moody blue sapphires on one, and flaming spessartite garnets and pink sapphires clashing on the other. The wide bracelets replicate the finesse of silk made possible by both superlative gem-setting and, in a High Jewellery first, Piaget’s ultra-thin selfwinding movement.

Art in motion
Finally, delivering the shock of the new, the masterpiece of the collection is Endless Motion – a table clock designed and crafted as a mobile sculpture. Embodying Piaget’s relationship with art and artists, this dynamic masterwork is the ultimate celebration of Piaget’s enduring play of shapes, the daring playfulness that the Maison takes so seriously. For such an innovative, barrier-breaking idea, Piaget commissioned Alex Palenski, French artist, friend of the Maison and maker of mobile sculptures. From this extends the quivering branches of the mobile, each set with an organically shaped ornamental stone, in hues of blue and green to echo the lightning flashes of the black opal. Exuding the energy of Piaget’s rebellious spirit, the sense of constant movement that defines Piaget’s creative force, and choreographing a subtle dance of light and shadow, Endless Motion represents the pinnacle of Extraleganza.

For Watches and Wonders, Piaget is unveiling a series of trapeze watches deeply rooted in the Maison’s historic codes.

Its name? Sixtie. Its allure?

Daring and avant-garde, to echo the flamboyance that marked the late 1960s, when Piaget redefined the contours of precious pieces and women’s watches.

The year 1969 marked a turning point for Piaget and the wider watchmaking world: staying true to the family motto “Do what has never been done before”, the Piaget family unveiled their 21st Century collection at the Basel Fair.

By redrawing the boundaries between watchmaking and the art of jewellery, Piaget reinvented the jewellery watch, driven by its talented designer Jean-Claude Gueit. In his hands, the watch shifted from timepiece to design piece over the course of the 60s and 70s.

It took on the shape of a cuff or a Swinging Sautoir with bold designs. A new way to wear time was born.

Among these avant-garde creations, the trapeze shape gradually established itself as a cult design. This disconcerting shape defies convention and embodies the unpredictable, mirroring the famous trapeze dress by Yves Saint Laurent.

Almost 60 years later, Piaget is celebrating the exacting creativity of its heritage, paying homage to this golden age. Emerging from the Maison’s Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire, this creativity brings together every facet of the Maison’s expertise while drawing on a wealth of imagination. Sixtie adorns the wrist like a jewel, sublime as a talisman, revealing a free-spirited femininity that is both instinctive and inspiring. Standing out from the crowd, its trapeze shape unites the Maison’s heritage with the present day in a graceful balance between the geometrical and the delicate. A jewellery watch or a watch jewel, it epitomises a journey back through time, while carrying forward the Maison’s state of mind.

Its sophistication enacts a metamorphosis, reshaping allure, cadence and elegance to transform the everyday.

A WATCH WITH CHARACTER

Proportions are revisited through an intense and chromatic interplay of textures: adorned with gold down to the finest details, its supple bracelet displays interlaced trapeze-shaped links that drape over the skin, suffusing it with light. The finely chiselled gadroons on the bezel proudly echo the spirit of the iconic Piaget watch owned by Andy Warhol. On its satin-finished dial, golden hour markers and baton hands blend harmoniously with the clean lines of Roman numerals.

Sixtie is a little more than just a watch: it is a jewellery watch displaying subtle extravagance, an accessory that is eloquently discreet, defying traditional proportions and convention. Either worn on its own or with other everyday treasures, Sixtie gives time a new shape, embodying an alternative form of elegance exclusively for women in the know.

Its asymmetrical rounded shape epitomises timelessness and the act of going against the tide, with a unique beat: a movement that reveals the unsuspected with every second.

“At Piaget, a timepiece is first and foremost a piece of jewellery,” said Yves Piaget.
Here, this unique jewellery watch breathes subtle movement into every gesture.
Its opulent details and radiant lines echo the surge of freedom and emancipation of a golden age that the Piaget Society continues to champion. Sixtie represents the unique vision of the woman who wears it, the multifaceted femininity of an aesthete. Self-aware and assertive, it turns every moment into an unforgettable memory, with a feather-light presence that leaves flashes of daring in its wake.

Supple and fluid, this iconic accessory curates its own history just like the woman who wears it, becoming a legend while capturing the essence of the present moment. A promise for the women destined to define our era.

Piaget’s dramatically new women’s watch, with its soft but strong trapeze-shaped case pays tribute to the 1960s, to the origins of the Maison’s creative force, and the continuing free-spirited play of shape and form, driven, as always, by innovation, extravagance, audacity and the unrivalled mastery of the House of Gold.

“DO WHAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE”
Exuding playful sophistication, the new Sixtie jewellery watch marks the latest move in Piaget’s Play of Shapes: a joyously irreverent game that started in the mid-1960s, toying with traditions, breaking boundaries, playing with shape, form, light and lustre, changing the shape of watchmaking forever. Sixtie, set to be a contemporary classic, with its trapeze-shaped case, silky gadrooned bezel and rocking, rolling bracelet, is named for sixty seconds that turn into a minute, sixty minutes that turn into an hour, and Piaget’s imagination and skill, rooted in the 1960s, in turning the watch into a jewel, and a jewel into a thrilling timepiece that marks its moment in time.

PIAGET SHAPE-SHIFTING THROUGH TIME
In 1969, at the annual Basel Fair, Piaget unveiled the 21st Century collection, rocking the status quo with a series of strikingly contemporary jewellery watches: avant-garde jewels that happened to tell the time, deep openwork cuffs, long swinging sautoirs, rugged hand-textured gold bracelets, all alive the richness of gold and the vibrant colour of ornamental or gemstone dials. The collection transformed the watch from a functional accessory to a design-driven, fashion-forward work of art, an object of desire. “A watch is first and foremost a piece of jewellery”, as Yves Piaget once said. One of the defining features of the collection was the unexpected variety of shapes of case and dial: taking the place of the usual round dial were ovals, horizontal and vertical or positioned at unexpected angles, rectangles of startling proportions, and most arresting of all, the trapeze-shape, unforgettable and inspirational as the fringed pendant watch on flamboyant gold chain sautoir. These carefully considered shapes brought high-energy and vivacity, and an element of surprise to each masterpiece, and at the same time they harmonised perfectly with the conceptual design of these audacious creations, so that the case and dial became not only functional structural components but integral design features.

With the 21st Century Collection, Piaget joined the 1960s and 70s cultural revolution, finding new relevance, new informality for the jewellery watch in a fast-changing modern world. Just as fashion was searching for a new expression of freedom and femininity in a youth-fuelled society. The trapeze shape, so unexpected, with a rule-breaking exuberance to its free-form interpretation, fast became a Piaget stylistic signature.

In general, 1960s design was dominated by strong, geometric shapes and forms, informed both by ‘youthquake’ playfulness and a powerful futuristic, space-age vision. Colours and shapes showed the influence of Pop art, just as abstract patterns echoed the graphic illusions of Op Art.

At the same time, there was an emphasis on comfort, dynamism and freedom of form and expression, while new materials enabled unconventional shapes, especially in furniture, as in the now iconic Egg and Bubble Chairs or Verner Panton’s undulating, ergonomic plastic stacking chair, conceived in 1950 and now a design classic.

1960s fashion, undergoing radical transformation, in London, with Mary Quant and Paris, with Courreges amongst others, also took on new shapes and forms.
The ‘A’ line dress, born in the 1950s became shorter and sharper and silhouettes were geometric, often trapeze-shaped.

PIAGET PIONEERS
Valentin Piaget, grandson of the founder, creative visionary and inventor of revolutionary watch movements (9P in 1957 or 12P in 1960 to name just a few), grasped the freedom offered by social, cultural, and artistic upheaval, feeding his own audacity and creativity, and Piaget’s enduring free spirit.

He worked closely with the seminal watch designer of the era, Jean-Claude Gueit, who saw himself as a ‘stylist’, rather than a designer, and nurtured a new creative working relationship between design and technology, art and craft.

In a master stoke of inspiration, Valentin sent the designers of the Maison’s Creative Studio to Paris, to see the catwalk shows and absorb the pulsating creative energy of the world of fashion. They were tasked with dreaming up accessories, watches and jewellery, to complement the new, avant-garde fashions, designs, unlike anything that had gone before, jewellery watches that would capture the excitement of contemporary cultural lifestyle, infused as it was with art and music. Back in Switzerland, the designers sketched and painted, expressing their ideas, often directly onto pages torn from fashion magazines.
The result was the 21st Century collection, brought to fruition and launched by Valentin’s nephew, the free-thinking, charismatic Yves Piaget.

THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME
Since then, Piaget has continued to play its provocative play of shapes, always respectful of the great heritage of Swiss watchmaking, yet always ready to take risks, to subvert traditions. Through the 1970s, new and precious jewellery watches could be square, octagonal, hexagonal, while Piaget also dared to blend and re-shape classic geometric forms, infusing them with movement, energy and fluidity : a square mingled with a circle, an oval elongated into an ellipse, a long and slender rectangle, and the signature trapeze, its angles muted, its form alive, soft and fluid. Breaking the rules of geometry, the familiar forms seem to shape-shift before our eyes, stimulating the imagination, challenging perceptions, with the harmony of contrasts and contradictions.

In 1972, the watch originally called “15102”, favoured by Andy Warhol and later named for him, the Andy Warhol watch, took the form of a powerful cushion shape. In 1973, Piaget launched what would become later on the Limelight Gala watch, bringing a new dynamism and fluidity to the conventional circular case, with the lugs breaking free from the circle, streaming onto the bracelet, creating lines of light and life. Much later, in 2024, celebrating Piaget’s 150th anniversary, the Essence of Extraleganza High Jewellery collection delved deep into the Maison’s exploration of shape and form, choreographing thrilling compositions both geometric and lyrical, including a set of breathtaking jewels of emeralds and diamonds in which specially-cut baguette stones were arranged and set to create a woven basketwork effect.

FREE FORM, FREE SPIRIT, FREE EXPRESSION.
The new Sixtie reinvents the trapeze shape that plays such a vital role in Piaget’s story of artistry and audacity. The geometric form is lusciously softened, recalling the 1969 Swinging Sautoirs of the 21st Century collection, its angles as if melted into strong yet sensual lines, creating a shape that seems to shift between trapeze, square, round or cushion; free-spirited and free-form, liberated from the constraints of convention or expectation, in true Piaget style.

The finely chased gadroons of the deep bezel reference the Piaget 14101, the Beta 21 quartz watch, the first timepiece to incorporate the chiselled lines.
They recall the Andy Warhol watch, now a design icon, hinting at the Piaget Society, the circle of 1970s jet-set luminaries of Yves Piaget’s inner circle, drawn to the Maison’s wayward modernity. The refined craftsmanship of the gadroons tells of Piaget’s Mastery of gold, the superlative hand-engraving that brings light, life and lustre to the watch. The same mastery of gold, the versatility of skills perfected by Piaget artisans, are showcased in the meticulously articulated bracelet. Composed of trapezoid links, the bracelet slithers around the wrist, supple, playful and pleasurable, with a vintage flavour, redolent of 1940s glamour, or the chunky gold bracelets worn by 1960s stars and socialites. Redolent too of Piaget’s signature integration of case and bracelet, function and beauty, watch and jewel, always in perfect harmony, as in the Piaget Polo 79 and the Aura High Jewellery watch.

Just as Piaget has always crossed boundaries, melding and mixing ideas, shapes, skills, fusing jewels and watches, precision and sophistication, art and craft, serious dedication and hedonistic pleasure, so Sixtie mingles the geometric and the curvaceous, classic and contemporary, tradition and modernity, masculine and feminine: the perfect expression of today’s blended society, of blended beauty, ideas and values, an expression of modern, multi-faceted, versatile, independent femininity.
Lastly and importantly, Piaget understands that today’s choice is vital for individuality of self-expression, and the Sixtie collection offers various options, starting with an entry level steel model, as well as a mixed-metal, two-tone version in steel and rose gold, along all gold models, with or without diamonds, and a gold Sixtie with ornamental turquoise dial. A celebration of individuality, and of Piaget’s essential and enduring play of shapes.

Appearing in titanium, in shades of blue and grey, the Piaget Polo watch continues to explore contemporary complications. Its language never deviates from the signature codes of Piaget’s style: the most graceful thinness, the most daring materials, the most innate elegance.

A true icon of the watchmaking world since its launch in 1979, the Piaget Polo embraced the ‘sport chic’ trend in its own unique way by unveiling a bracelet watch carved from pure gold. Today, it is venturing even further. Having proudly
displayed the colours of a masterful skeleton movement since 2021, elevated by an ultra-thin perpetual calendar in 2023, the Piaget Polo watch is yet again taking up position on the complications podium in 2025 by combining a flying tourbillon with an astronomical moonphase display.

After its majestic reign on the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon watch, the flying tourbillon will now exhibit its beating heart on another of Maison Piaget’s star watch cases, following on from this exploit of ultra-thin elegance.

To celebrate the debut of a complication as poetic as it is emblematic, the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase is stepping into the spotlight wearing Piaget’s most iconic colour: blue, the Maison’s long-standing visual signature.

REFINED

This Piaget style signature, which defines the piece’s aesthetics, is paired with another, deeply rooted in technique. Asserting the Maison’s inherent mastery in ultra-thin watchmaking, the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase boasts an overall thickness of 9.8 mm. This stems from the calibre that drives it, the 642P, which itself is just 4 mm thick.

Extravagantly defying expectations, the Piaget

Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase displays a 44 mm-diameter titanium case alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces.

Light, yet extremely strong, this material has earned its place among the noblest of alloys, not for its rarity but for its exceptional performance. This includes its ability to retain all its properties when it is coloured using the PVD technique.

This latest creation presents blue case flanks and a blue crown insert, matching the dial with their shade and their gadroons, a visual signature that has set the tempo for the Piaget Polo collection since its inception in 1979.

CALIBRATED

Beneath the aesthetic qualities of the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase, the Maison fully expresses its mastery of horological savoir-faire. The creator of dozens of calibres, and master of all complications from the simplest to the rarest, the Piaget Manufacture in La Côte-aux-Fées is home to the highest standards of craftsmanship. With its exceptional tools, it has poured its soul into the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase.

Piaget has drawn on its history as a designer, developer and maker of mechanical movements with complications to deliver a new version of its calibre 600P, once hailed as the thinnest shaped tourbillon ever imagined. The hand-wound Calibre 642P also possesses this attribute. With an overall thickness of 4 mm, it mirrors the 600P’s ultra-thin architecture, its flying tourbillon, and its finely worked tourbillon cage in the shape of a stylised P. It also encases the components required to display the moonphase, with an imperceptible increase in thickness of just 0.5 mm. With the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase standing for both discretion and performance, this celestial complication was duty-bound to harmonise with the piece as a whole. That is why the moonphase is shown with a precision described as ‘astronomical’.

The relative speeds of the Earth and its satellite means that their cycles are slightly out of sync. Moonphase mechanisms vary in their ability to reflect this mismatch.

Thanks to Piaget’s horological expertise and uncompromising technical precision, it would take 122 years to build up a single day’s difference between Calibre 642P’s display and the reality of the night sky. This misalignment can be rectified by adjusting the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase’s moon display using the corrector at 9 o’clock.

EXUDING ALLURE

Watchmaking is a meritocracy, where titles are earned through a consistent approach. Piaget never deviates from this guiding principle. By creating model after model, spanning collections and decades, the Maison strives to offer a vision of the watch centred on discreet pleasure, unconventional elegance, and a vision of quality rooted in the wearing experience.

Here, a cushion-shaped dial is paired with a circular case, creating contrast in the piece’s form and highlighting the dial.

On one side, the wearer can admire the motion work and the moonphase display at 6 o’clock, while on the other, a clear sapphire crystal shows off the movement…

Only when the Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase is slipped onto the wrist does it fully reveal its true nature: fine, streamlined, light and comfortable, with unfailing sophistication.

The Piaget Andy Warhol watch debuts a new design interpretation, featuring a stunning Clou de Paris pattern on the case and a powerful blue meteorite dial. A new chapter and identity for this collector cult favourite.

Created in 1972 and produced for less than a decade before its revival in 2014, this elegant masterpiece is today synonymous with the artist and cultural icon, Andy Warhol (1928-1987). A friend of the Maison, who was a key member of the Piaget Society, Andy Warhol owned no less than seven Piaget watches. But among this eclectic collection, the watch that he is most associated with is the era-defining Beta21 movement, previously named the Black Tie watch. With its daring and bold 45mm-diameter cushion-shape case, which is elegantly ringed with signature gadroons, the design has become a collector reference – coveted by watch enthusiasts all over the world.

Now, thanks to an official new collaboration under license with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Piaget and the Foundation have formally renamed the timepiece: the Andy Warhol watch. The first watch celebrating this exciting union is a new and contemporary design interpretation: the Andy Warhol Clou de Paris watch. Featuring a shimmering Clou de Paris finish on the case, the launch is further complemented by Piaget’s enhanced Made to Order personalization service, inviting collectors to create their very own Andy Warhol watch.

“The Andy Warhol Foundation is delighted to celebrate the bond between Warhol and Piaget through an eponymous watch with an ethos as timeless, iconic, and singular as its namesake.” said Michael Dayton Hermann, Director of Licensing, Marketing, and Sales at The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

“We are deeply honoured and delighted by the trust that the Andy Warhol Foundation is showing in Piaget, highlighting the deep and sincere relationship between the Maison and Andy Warhol. A new dawn for this very unique timepiece, beloved by all,”
said Benjamin Comar, CEO of Piaget.

REIMAGINING AN ICON

One of horology’s most refined and elegant decorative techniques, Clou de Paris – also known as hobnail – is a guilloché motif featuring a jewellery-like pattern of small, pyramid-like squares. The decoration is firmly a part of Piaget’s DNA and adorned its most stylish watches in the 1970s, from round to shaped designs. But playing with an icon is never easy, and for the Andy Warhol watch, Piaget’s Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire spent 10 months developing and perfecting the Clou de Paris finish on the white gold case. Reminiscent of the original signature gadroons, the challenge lay in the watch’s cushion-shaped case. Not only did the Clou de Paris pattern has to be meticulously hand-finished on a curved, rather than flat, surface, it also had to achieve the same subtle layering, wondrous play of light and alluring artistry of the original gadroons.

Complementing this finish is a one-of-a-kind blue meteorite dial. Featuring a powerful hue and unique reflection, the meteorite nods to Piaget’s signature in designing with ornamental stones and is a distinctive material that the Maison has reserved for extraordinary creations. Here, the blue meteorite adds a sense of rarity and distinction to the new Andy Warhol watch. A final vintage flourish highlights the design’s singular character: dauphine-style hands and elegant indexes.

With its new Clou de Paris decoration and bold vintage identity – and powered by the in-house 501P1 Manufacture self-winding movement –the new Andy Warhol watch Clou de Paris feels like a natural part of the collection. It is a fresh and contemporary addition to a namesake collection that features only a handful of interpretations to date: among them 2023’s High Jewellery Metaphoria piece with baguette-cut emeralds framing a petrified wood dial; rose gold models with malachite and black dials; and among all the bespoke pieces, a private collection of 10 unique Andy Warhol watches which was exhibited in the Society Bar of Piaget’s booth during Watches and Wonders 2023.

ANDY WARHOL AND PIAGET

In 1973, Andy Warhol acquired his Piaget Black Tie watch, adding to the six other Piaget timepieces that he owned (four of which are today part of Piaget’s Private Collection). Andy Warhol became an authentic friend of the Maison, having met Yves Piaget in 1979 in New York. The pair developed a close bond, with Andy Warhol a regular member of the Piaget Society, travelling with Yves Piaget to glamorous events hosted in New York and Palm Beach. Both were also frequently spotted among the beau monde at the likes of Studio 54 and Chez Régine. In 1983, Yves Piaget was profiled in Interview magazine, the publication Warhol founded in 1969, featuring a discussion with the young artist and gallery owner Robert Lee Morris.

Andy Warhol truly embodies the spirit of Piaget and Piaget Society. His unique and historic friendship with Yves Piaget has now been recognised by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

RARE SPECIMENS

An important collectors’ reference and a watch that changed the course of history, the Andy Warhol watch grew by word-of-mouth to become one of the most coveted and collectible luxury timepieces today. To further celebrate the launch of this icon, Piaget has enhanced its made to order service, continuing a personalisation offering that dates back to Piaget’s first Geneva boutique in 1959, and which in more recent years has relaunched as the Infinitely Personal concept.

For the new Andy Warhol watch, clients will be offered a host of customization options, starting with up to 10 different ornamental stone dials, and the meteorite dial. Among the new possibilities is eye-catching falcon eye, which joins existing Piaget signatures which have long been popular with clients, like turquoise and malachite. This can be matched with up to five different colours for the leather strap, while collectors can also opt for either the new dauphine-style hands or the original batons. Finally, the case can come in either white or rose gold enabling watch lovers to, not unlike Andy Warhol, proudly create a piece of art for their wrists. A revamped service launched as the exciting next chapter for this iconic timepiece begins.

In celebration of its 150th anniversary, Maison Piaget unveils The Piaget Salon, an extraordinary experiential space situated in the heart of Dubai Mall’s Grand Atrium. Running from 17th October to 3rd November, the exclusive salon will allow guests to experience Piaget’s craftsmanship & unique-know how through a curation of artisanal workshop experiences alongside an immersive display of some of the storied Maison’s most iconic timepieces, 150th anniversary limited editions & latest novelties.

PIAGET SALON CONCEPT
In 1959, Piaget unveils its first store in Geneva at Rue Du Rhone. It is not a boutique, it is a salon. It was created to be a welcoming place where M. Yves Piaget liked to welcome his friends and clients. It was a space to share creativity and savoir-faire, by showing the first of Piaget’s Luxury Jewelry creations alongside refined timepieces. Piaget watches were already being sold around the world but this was a chance to celebrate the maison’s unique creativity, in one uniquely designed location. By way of contrast with the historical buildings lining the streets of the lakeside city, it was a statement of modernity. Instead of the traditional large boutique windows stuffed with product, Piaget’s had no outside windows, tempting passersby to stop and take a closer look at the strikingly spartan selection of wonders inside. Inside was more art gallery than a store, a place to savour audacious design and exceptional craft and t o reveal the most exclusive creations.

A GLIMPSE INTO PIAGET’S ATELIER’S DE L’EXTRAORDINAIRE

The Piaget Salon brings the experience of L’Atelier’s De L’Extraordinaire to Dubai, offering guests an immersive insight into the world of the Maison’s craftsmanship. Nestled on the edge of Geneva, L’Ateliers De L’Extraordinaire is where Piaget’s artisans transform raw materials into timeless masterpieces, weaving the Maison’s aesthetic vision into every delicate creation. Here, gold and gemstones become refined cases and silky bracelets, each adorned with Piaget’s signature embellishments—artistry anchored in the spirit of the Maison.

DISCOVER 150TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION PIECES
This year, Piaget unveils a new iteration of its beloved Possession collection in celebration of the Maison’s 150th anniversary. Diving into a precious library of savoir-faire, magnetic goldsmithing technics are revived in this most playful of capsule collections – a celebration of the Maison’s enduring mastery of gold, and spirited approach to movement.

At its heart, this precious capsule takes its inspiration from the legacy of Piaget’s master chain makers, who ensured that not only their own expertise but that of the master goldsmiths who came before them would live on in the next generations. Like a bundle of precious braids, the Possession 150th Anniversary ring’s turning bands incorporate a clutch of beloved chain designs. From the plump, white-gold gourmette chain to the braided palm chain and the twisted torsade, all three styles nestle harmoniously in a row, pave-set with diamonds and finished with highly polished gadroon edges. A ring to twist playfully on the finger, the diamonds catching the light as they spin.

PIAGET POLO ICONIC LEGACY REIMAGINED FOR TODAY

PIAGET POLO 79
In 1979, Piaget unveiled the Piaget Polo, a timepiece that would become a defining symbol of the Maison’s audacious spirit, blending sport and sophistication with a seamless integration of bracelet and case. A true icon of 1980s glamour, it graced the wrists of the Piaget Society’s jet set, from the nightclubs of New York to the polo fields of Palm Beach. Now, 45 years later, the Piaget Polo 79 returns, preserving the unmistakable elegance of its original design while introducing nuanced refinements for the modern connoisseur. Beneath its sleek exterior lies Piaget’s revolutionary ultra-thin movement—a technical marvel that, when introduced, pushed the boundaries of precision and design, and continues to stand as an enduring beacon of the Maison’s dedication to horological innovation.

PIAGET POLO SKELETON CERAMIC
Marking this legacy of daring innovation on the milestone occasion of its sesquicentennial anniversary, Piaget unveiled the Piaget Polo Skeleton Ceramic—a bold new reference that combines the Maison’s art of skeletonisation with the striking allure of black ceramic. This contemporary iteration infuses the Polo collection with an audacious, modern edge, while retaining the effortless elegance that Piaget has mastered for generations. Showcasing the Maison’s technical mastery, the intricate openwork and ultra-thin movement are crafted with precision, pushing the boundaries of modern watchmaking.

Together, these two timepieces epitomise Piaget’s legacy of haute horology, seamlessly merging heritage and innovation in a celebration of craftsmanship and refined distinction.

For the first time, the Maison welcomes ceramic into its watchmaking repertoire – marking a new milestone for the Piaget Polo Skeleton collection. Now in Piaget’s hands, ceramic instantly becomes elegant and distinctive, redefining the Maison’s commitment to watchmaking excellence and innovation.

Taking three years to develop, the Piaget Polo Skeleton fuses ceramic with the Maison’s art of skeletonization. With a striking, jet-black finish set in the Polo’s ultra-thin, second skin like signature, the design is an invitation to see beyond the obvious – injecting a bold modernity into Piaget’s most iconic watchmaking collection.

MODER N TIMES

The Piaget Polo collection is the perfect canvas to welcome ceramic. When the design debuted in 1979, Piaget Polo instantly became a byword for sporting elegance, its name a direct reference to its target clientele and the sophisticated, jet-set Piaget Society that came to define 1980s glamour. The truly unisex piece, featuring signature gadroons, was crafted in gold – and over the decades Polo has evolved with new iterations and creative expressions: steel was introduced in 2016 with the contemporary Piaget Polo S collection, complemented by new manufacture movements, complications and innovations for changing times, including a date model, a perpetual calendar and interchangeable rubber straps. Never compromising on the collection’s sleek, ultra-thin proportions and high- end finishes, the Piaget Polo has stayed true to its original spirit: a sophisticated watch for everyday wear – and a design of effortless distinction.

A Maison that embraces the artistry of details and textures, Piaget now celebrates the art of skeletonization with ceramic, all set in the ultra-thin, balanced proportions of the Piaget Polo collection. A tradition that’s rooted in the Maison’s history. Skeleton watches appeared at Piaget in 1948, and continued to be produced in small, exclusive quantities in the 1970s and 1980s. The Piaget Polo collection was an especially fine showcase for Piaget’s skeletonization mastery, among the most famous being Miles Davis’s 1984 Piaget Polo, which celebrated the legendary musician’s regular appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival. A double diamond bezel frames the stunning openwork dial, and the watch’s case features eye-catching lugs that nod the Polo’s hallmark polished gadroons. There have also been gem-set skeletonised timepieces, and in the early 2000s, graphic, openwork dials combined with the Maison’s horological innovations, like its 600P tourbillon that came to life with skeletonization. All stemming from the 9 and 12P movements breakthrough.

In 2021, the dynamism and lightness of the Piaget Polo Skeleton, powered by the in- house calibre 1200S1, welcomed an unexpected new look: bridges treated with daring blue or grey colour. Highlighting the depth and texture of Piaget’s openwork expertise, the pieces reignited the Piaget Polo’s original creativity and flamboyance, and was followed up in 2024 with the Only Watch unique piece. Featuring striking, multicolour layers of green, blue and rose gold skeletonized brides, the daring piece set the stage for the Polo Skeleton Ceramic.

CER AMIC MEETS ULTRA-THIN

The biggest challenge was the watch’s development, where ceramic is seamlessly fused with Piaget’s ultra-thin DNA and aesthetic. Producing and finishing such slim, waterproof, yet robust ceramic components was a true feat of engineering and design, and a watchmaking first. It required the Manufacture to completely reconsider the watch’s existing constructions and build a new case from the ground up.

Anchoring the new construction is a special titanium container that houses the ceramic case and components. The titanium container is treated with black DLC to match the dark profile of the watch’s ceramic components, which includes a two-part case, crown and bezel. Exuding a strong and powerful, tone-on-tone look with subtle grey shades, the new Piaget Polo Skeleton Ceramic brings everyday extravagance and cool to the wrist – while achieving a thickness of just 7.5mm. This is only 1mm above the existing Piaget Polo Skeleton steel and gold models – and a rare feat for a skeleton model housing an automatic winding system.

Powered by the Manufacture 1200S1 ultra-thin self-winding calibre, the watch’s jet-black aesthetic is contrasted by striking Superluminova accents: on the indexes and hands, and now for the first time, the Piaget logo on the oscillating weight. This brings a unique dynamism to the design, complemented by the added versatility of the SingleTouch interchangeable strap system, first introduced on the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin black in 2023. The watch can be fitted with either a black rubber strap with a steel and titanium folding strap, or an additional blue rubber strap.

Audacious, daring and a mark of distinction, the new Piaget Polo Skeleton Ceramic opens a new chapter for the Maison. Rooted in the original codes of the Piaget Polo’s disruptive design – with its refined proportions and joyful mix of everyday sophistication – the Piaget Polo Skeleton Ceramic is a testament to Piaget’s watchmaking savoir-faire and pioneering spirit.

Ahead of its appearance at the 17th edition of Art Dubai, Piaget unveils a new creation crafted in tandem with designer Shamsa Alabbar, who has brought a fresh perspective to this delicate jewelry watch.

Extravagant, yet ever so elegant… For over half a century, the stunning, shimmering curves of the Limelight Gala have set a tempo that is resolutely “Extraleganza”. Hovering between a watch and a piece of jewellery, this quintessential watch even now tailors itself to the everyday, while bringing allure to spectacular evenings. As celebrations begin to mark the Maison’s 150th anniversary, since its creation at the heart of the village of La Côte- Aux-Fées at the hands of the visionary Georges-Édouard Piaget, it is this surprising meeting of minds that Piaget has chosen to explore with a highly contemporary designer brimming with personality. A leading figure in the contemporary Arabic jewellery world, since 2013, Shamsa Alabbar has been transposing the ancient codes of the Arabian Peninsula into a series of graphic pieces in which calligraphy and typography take on a new dimension. Hemmed with gold and diamonds : this is the image that the designer is now applying to the dial of a limited-edition Limelight Gala watch.

While the mesh work, painstakingly completed by hand in Piaget’s workshops, and the lush, asymmetrical waltz of diamonds immediately bring to mind the codes of the Limelight Gala, the gaze is irresistibly drawn to this enchanting dial, which is utterly one of a kind. Inspired by the Token motif, which the designer has made her signature by weaving it through her jewellery collection, the dial also pays homage to Arabic typography and the iconic mashrabiya. Much more than a simple arabesque, the dial distils the charm of a culture that is, now more than ever, part of the zeitgeist. “Piaget has always been a brand that captivated me with its unique designs and exquisite craftsmanship. It holds cherished memories of the most significant moments in my life. Whenever I visited the Piaget flagship store at The Dubai Mall, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by their creations, particularly their watches. The opportunity to design a dial for the Gala watch feels like a surreal dream come true”, adds Shamsa Alabbar. This collaboration will be presented at Art Dubai from the 1st to the 3rd of March 2024, featuring on Piaget’s stand to celebrate gold work, one of the cornerstones of Piaget’s success.

Today marks a very important milestone in the growth of the Arab Watch Club; after over 9 months of design work and several iterations, the club has released its 15th Special Edition since their establishment in 2015, and this time it is a very unique take on the popular Piaget Polo Chronograph Panda.

The project started in 2021 sometimes during the summer period when Piaget was introducing its latest Polo Chronograph Panda Blue and later its Polo 36mm. The idea came to us whilst visiting the manufacture in the summer and proposing to the team in Geneva to start a new collaboration with a fresh take on the Polo.

To be honest this was not our first proposed design!! We wanted to create a Sport watch in steel but with a little bit of bling in it; meaning diamonds or rainbow bezel! So we started thinking of a simple design with a Time Only Polo and Gem set indexes inside the dial instead of a full rainbow bezel.

Frankly, not a lot of members were keen on such a take on a sports watch and also its appeal was less attractive knowing that the Daytona Rainbow has perfected this kind of approach.

So we went back to the drawing boards and this time decided to upgrade the watch to have a complication; one that everyone appreciates and admires; The Chronograph.

The Polo Chronograph “Panda” gave us more room for customisation and creativity and also a much more functional watch to go with.

Let’s star with the Dial composition: It was very important to us to choose a shade a of Salmon as the base color for the dial to give it a strong sumerish look that has not been seen before on a Polo. We opted for a more pinkish shade of salmong and decided to contrast it with a very unique Kakhi subdials. A combination of colors that is very striking and unused before.

All the numbers on the dial are “indian numerals” and we also changed the date wheel to keep the consistency, with the lighter shade of salmon on the background.

The Chronograph seconds hands has been modified to match the color of the subdials and remain also in Kakhi. Similarly, Piaget is now also written in Kakhi.

The case is a 42mm stainless steel case, similar to the current Polo Chronograph model and the movement is the Manufacture Piaget 1160P self-winding mechanical movement with chronograph and date.

This self-winding chronograph movement measures just 5.72 mm thick, while displaying the hours, minutes, a chronograph with central seconds, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock and date at 6 o’clock.

The 1160P calibre provides remarkable accuracy and reliability thanks to its column wheel, vertical coupling clutch and stop seconds. Vibrating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offering a power reserve of 50 hours.

The 1160P movement showcases meticulous finishes, such as the oscillating weight engraved with the Piaget coat-of-arms and decorated with circular Côtes de Genève, the circular-grained mainplate, bevelled bridges and blued screws.

Another special customisation added to the watches is the unique color of the rubber and leather straps that accompanies all watches – the Kakhi colors were designed to keep the harmony of colors with the dial and push the boundaries of contrasts play.

There were only 30 pieces produced for this Edition; all pre-sold to the Club members, numbered “one of 30” and with each members name fully engraved on the case back.

This last weekend, we had the chance to finally visit Bahrain after almost 2 years of lock down and travel restrictions due to COVID19; and what better way to celebrate the occasion other than hosting av very private dinner with Piaget and Bahrain Jewelry Center.

It was the first time for me to host such a private collector dinner in Bahrain with top Piaget clients and members of our Arab WAtch Club. We were staying at the Four Seasons, really one of the nicest hotels in Bahrain and among the Four Seasons chain globally.

The event took place at Cut in the cigar lounge, where we privatised the area so our guests feel more comfortable and cozy while having the dinner and also enjoying a nice cigar with some watches here and there!!

I was wearing on that night one of my favourite watches in the line up of Altiplanos. the 38mm Altiplano skeleton rose gold – an ultimate classiness on the wrist and a gentlemen’s choice especially when suited.

The guests started coming in and it was such a delight to reconnect to so many collectors that I have been in touch with mostly on Social Media without having the chance to meet in person. One of the most enjoyable aspect of those evenings is to learn more about each collectors’ path in watch collecting and their theories and personal tastes.

From the AP savy collectors to the Patek and Rolex aficionados, we ended up all on a Piaget table discussing their latest Polo Skeleton that took our breath away ; specially the one with the diamond bezel – this is definitely my ultimate Polo skeleton choice.

As the cigars started to light up and the evening diverted into exploring more of the Piaget offering from the Polo range to the Emperador very unique designs; many collectors have set their eyes on one or two pieces – interestingly enough, the variety of opinions and tastes almost covered all the breadth of models we have been looking at throughout the night.

For some reason lately, all the watches that are catching my attention from Piaget have a diamond bezel – whether the Polo , the Altiplano or the Emperador lines. There is something extremely attractive on a men’s watch with a well crafted diamond bezel. In excess, it will look tacky , but in the right setting and the proper alignment, it is actually very tasteful.

After several hours of chatting , eating and smoking; we had to conclude a wonderful evening with very enthusiastic collectors from Bahrain with a very big Thank You to the Piaget and the Bahrain Jewelry Center teams who made this event happen
