An exercise in style
The Angles Guichets pushes the Angles aesthetic further through one of the most demanding exercises in watch design: the aperture display.
Demanding because the usual visual markers of a watch — those that typically define its identity — vanish behind an almost entirely solid face: no central hands, no conventional dial, no counters, chapter ring or logo – only two arcs revealing the passage of time. This deliberate restraint heightens the designer’s challenge, requiring personality to emerge through proportion, rhythm and detail, while remaining true to the Angles’ underlying design language.
On the Angles Guichets, this balance is achieved with apparent ease, with a poetry of its own. Sidestepping established conventions, Beda’a offers an alternative way of reading time. Sohaib Maghnam imagined a watch that reflects how its passage is perceived from Earth: on the wrist, at a glance, the Sun and the Moon appear to move across the sky before the wearer’s eyes.

The discreet elegance of apertures
The upper aperture displays the hours on a fixed scale from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Sun then the Moon travel across the opening, indicating the passage of day and night. Their motion is slow, almost imperceptible, intimating a different relationship with time.

The Angles Guichets favours a slower pace — contemplation over precision — which is why the watch omits any seconds indication.
The lower aperture is dedicated to the minutes. Here, Beda’a introduces a characteristic inversion: as the minute disc advances, a fine arrow set flush with the dial marks the reading point, reinforcing clarity while maintaining visual restraint.

Inspired by the rare natural phenomenon from which it takes its name, Eclipse reimagines the act of reading time from a minimalist yet striking perspective. Framed by a 37 mm stainless-steel case, a “celestial shield” conceals most of the dial, revealing only the essentials: a sweeping hour aperture, a floating minutes indicator, and a discreet 10-second counter.

The shield itself floats just beneath the sapphire crystal, creating a tactile connection and a play of light evocative of an eclipse’s corona. Beneath this architectural dial lies the Sellita SW300 automatic movement, visible through a sapphire case back. With its 8.1 mm profile and refined lug construction – each lug individually finished and fitted to the concave case via invisible screws – Eclipse balances visual presence with ergonomic comfort.

A subtle, refined renewal
The new Angles refines its silhouette: rounded edges soften the once-sharp stepped case, while new stepped lugs and a sculpted crown reinforce its singular presence. Crafted in 316L stainless steel, the case now measures 37 mm, with a slight curve on the case-back to enhance wrist comfort.
The finishing has also been heightened with alternating brushed surfaces and polished fillets, enriching the play of light and depth, of volume and detail.

What’s new?

Following the successful release of Fortress in 2024, Beda’a went back to the drawing board, dreaming up fresh and exciting ways to present Fortress in a manner fit to the spirit of the brand, ever evolving and ever creating.

This time, the eastern Arabic / Hindu numerals were replaced with the more Global and widespread Arabic numerals, making the watch more accessible. Rather incredibly, the new numerals were designed by internationally renowned artist Wissam Shawkat, who worked tirelessly with the Beda’a team to create a visually striking dial that refreshes the design of the Fortress with wild, flowy numerals that contrast the strong and sharp lines of the case.

The new dial features a pattern of rays emitting from the center to meet the enamel rectangular index as well as the set of new numerals as imagined by Wissam Shawkat.

Three colors will be offered; a metallic gray, classic and reserved, a white for a cleaner look, and a deep blue sure to turn heads.

Also new are the strap options offered. As standard, fortress will be offered with matching epsom leather straps. However, alligator straps with a different cut that extenuates the strength of Fortress, are also offered.

Before Beda’a as a brand was conceived, came an idea to create a watch that embodies the Arabian arts and architecture in a fresh new way. The Angles was among the first watches ever created under the original mother company of Beda’a. It was clearly a labor of love, challenged by the fact that it was the team’s first venture into the world of watches.

In 2024, when the new Angles (37 mm) was launched, it was met with a positively strong and overwhelming reaction by collectors and enthusiasts in the region, quickly making the angles a best-seller anchor of the brand.

It was a must, then, that the same treatment is given to the smaller variant of Angles, largely dedicated to ladies but also enjoyed by many who appreciate a petite design. The overarching design elements were kept the same, an octagonal case, slim in profile. This time, however, the case was made lug-less to further support the smaller design as well as increase comfort. Making for a beautiful daily wear guaranteed to bring a smile anytime you look down at your wrist.

Highlighting the design, is the stepped case and crown, measuring 30 mm in width, and featuring a slight curve along the case-back for a more comfortable fit on the wrist.

In terms of finishing, the Angles 30 mm incorporates multiple finishes on its thin case; Beda’a has added a blend of brushed flat faces and polished fillets, all to create a more multi-dimensional and deep visual effect that enhances the experience of wearing the watch.

Three different colors are made available on a lacquered dial with subtle, faded Roman numerals developed exclusively for Beda’a, the result is a dial that looks blank and pure from a far, but reveals its secrets once you are closer, a motif that summons that idea of a dial of fog, so to speak. Beautiful from a far, and reveals even more beauty up close. Especially when complimented with the polished dauphine hands to indicate the hours and the minutes .

Not one fortuitous call, but two

Just weeks before leaving Milan, his Master’s degree in his pocket, Sohaib received a call from Qatar. It was Hader Al Suwaidi, the president of luxury group Albidaa, who wanted to purchase one of his Maghnam watches. A few days later, he called again – this time, with an offer to head the group’s watch division. Albidaa was in the early stages of establishing a fully independent watch brand as part of its portfolio of luxury companies. It was the beginning of Beda’a –and he had the perfect profile.

“It was a complete surprise—yet also an incredible opportunity. I would be designing, building a team, managing suppliers, sales, and marketing, while building a team and a brand. It was a chance I couldn’t pass up. A few months later, I left for Doha to begin the Beda’a adventure—and never looked back,” Sohaib recalls.

A Brand on the Rise

Maintaining the momentum, Beda’a quickly established itself, winning over new clients and taking part in major exhibitions: Watches and Wonders, Geneva Watch Days, Wind Up Watch Fair (NYC), and The Horology Club anniversary (HK). The watch collections take shape, forming the brand’s four foundational pillars: Attrayant, assertive and elegant; Fortress, with its Art Deco accents; Angles, the unclassifiable best-seller whose limited New York series sold out in hours; and, finally, as the ultimate statement – Eclipse.

Eclipse is the most elemental of Beda’a creations, as it is the only round watch in Beda ’a’s portfolio. Design remains paramount. The timepiece orchestrates a perfect dialogue between linear precision and orbital grace.
A singular vertical axis connects three elements: the off-center hours and minutes at twelve, an independent small seconds display, and a crown positioned at six o’clock – a bold departure from convention in Haute Horlogerie, yet intrinsic to the commitment of Beda’a to pure alignment.
