Rolex presents two new 18 ct gold versions of the Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller, each sporting a Jubilee bracelet. It is the first time that this watch for world travellers has been fitted with a Jubilee bracelet in precious metal.

The first version is crafted in 18 ct Everose gold and features a slate dial, while the second, fashioned from 18 ct yellow gold, displays an intense white dial.

The two Jubilee bracelets are equipped with an Oysterclasp, the clasp  traditionally used on the Sky-Dweller. And, like the majority of Rolex bracelets made from precious materials, they include ceramic inserts inside their  links.

The Sky-Dweller is equipped with calibre 9002, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology that enables it to display the date and the month, as well as an additional time zone in 24-hour format, and the hours,  minutes and seconds.

A wealth of expertise

An elegant watch for frequent travellers, the Sky-Dweller displays the time in two time zones simultaneously and has an annual calendar. A reference time is displayed in 24-hour format via an off-centre disc, and local time is  read using the conventional centre hands. The annual calendar, named Saros, automatically differentiates between 30- and 31-day months. It is operated by a patented mechanism and stands out for its innovative display: the  months of the year are shown in 12 apertures around the circumference of the dial, beyond the index hour marker – the current month being shown in red. The instantaneous date change is linked to the local time.

The Sky-Dweller includes the Ring Command system, a patented interface between the rotatable bezel, winding crown and movement that allows the wearer to select and set the timepiece’s functions one by one, easily, quickly  and securely

A paragon of robustness and elegance, the 42 mm Oyster case of the Sky-Dweller is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). The middle case of the versions presented is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct yellow or Everose gold. Its case back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The Twinlock winding crown, fitted with a double  waterproofness system, screws down securely against the case. The crystal, which features a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for easy reading of the date, is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire and benefits from an anti-reflective  coating. The waterproof Oyster case provides optimal protection for the movement it houses.

Calibre 9002

The Sky-Dweller is driven by calibre 9002, a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Released in 2023, it was introduced on the model the same year and exclusively equips this watch. A distillation of  technology, this self-winding mechanical movement delivers outstanding performance, particularly in terms of precision, power reserve, convenience and reliability.

Calibre 9002 incorporates the patented Chronergy escapement, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorus, this escapement is resistant to strong magnetic fields. The  movement is fitted with a blue Parachrom hairspring, manufactured by Rolex in a paramagnetic alloy.

The hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations as well as high resistance to shocks. It is equipped with a Rolex overcoil, ensuring the calibre’s regularity in any position. The oscillator is mounted on  the Rolex-designed, patented high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, increasing the movement’s shock resistance. Jubilee bracelet

The new versions of the Sky-Dweller are fitted on a Jubilee bracelet. Supple and comfortable, this five-piece link metal bracelet was specially created for the Oyster Perpetual Datejust, which was launched in 1945.

The Jubilee bracelet on these watches is equipped with a folding Oysterclasp and features the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by Rolex, which allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm. Crafted in 18 ct Everose gold on the version with the slate dial and in 18 ct yellow gold on the variant with the intense white dial, the bracelet includes patented ceramic inserts – designed by the brand – inside the links to  enhance its flexibility on the wrist and its longevity.

Two new reinterpretations of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona achieve the perfect balance of precision and preciousness. In a subtle interplay of hues, they write another chapter in the legendary story of a model  known for a wealth of variations, summoning the potential in each of us for perpetual reinvention.

Rolex is unveiling two new precious and exclusive versions of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona distinctive for their contrasting dial made from natural mother-of-pearl and graced with eight diamonds and three  Chromalight hour markers. Both watches are crafted in 18 ct white gold and crowned with a bezel set with 36 brilliant-cut diamonds.

The first version, fitted on an Oysterflex bracelet, features a dial in white mother-of-pearl with chronograph counters in black mother-of-pearl. The colour combination is reversed on the second watch, which has an Oyster  bracelet and a black mother-of-pearl dial with white mother-of-pearl counters. The discs of material used for the dial and the counters are positioned to optimize the colour intensity of each variety of mother-of-pearl and  further enhance the contrast between them.

This design called for the creation of a specific and technically demanding manufacturing process. The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with calibre 4131, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology that features  bridges decorated with Rolex Côtes de Genève and a cut-out oscillating weight. Oysterflex and Oyster bracelets

The new version of the Cosmograph Daytona with a white mother-of-pearl dial and black mother-of-pearl counters is fitted on an Oysterflex bracelet. Developed by Rolex and patented, this innovative bracelet is made up of two flexible, curved metal blades – one for each of the sections – overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer.

The variant with a black mother-of-pearl dial and white mother-of-pearl counters is mounted on an Oyster bracelet. Developed in the late 1930s, this three-piece link metal bracelet is known for its robustness; it remains the  most universal in the Oyster Perpetual collection.

The Oysterflex bracelet and the Oyster bracelet of the Cosmograph Daytona are each equipped with the Oysterlock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening. The Oysterflex bracelet is furnished with the Rolex  Glidelock extension system. Developed by the brand and patented, this inventive mechanism with a rack located under the clasp cover enables fine adjustment of the bracelet length, without the need for tools. The Rolex  Glidelock on the Oysterflex bracelet has six notches of approximately 2.5 mm, allowing the length of the bracelet to be effortlessly adjusted up to some 15 mm. The Oyster bracelet of the Cosmograph Daytona features, for its  part, the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by the brand, which allows the wearer to easily lengthen the bracelet by approximately 5 mm. Rolex is unveiling an original version of the Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea. This divers’ watch is presented in 18 ct yellow gold for the first time and sports a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom bezel insert in blue ceramic as  well as a blue lacquer dial bearing the name ‘DEEPSEA’ in powdered yellow.

This new version also incorporates a technical innovation: the high-performance compression ring within the Ringlock system is crafted from ceramic. A marvel of precision engineering, this Cerachrom ring is the result of a pioneering manufacturing process. Coloured blue and embellished with a circular satin finish and inscriptions that are engraved then gilded,  this component also marks a new way of integrating ceramic into a watch case:
the compression-resistance and anti-deformation properties of this high-tech material contribute to the waterproofness of the watch.

The watch of the deep

The Rolex Deepsea fully illustrates the innovative ability of Rolex. At its launch in 2008, this deep-sea divers’ watch, guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 3,900 metres (12,800 feet), inaugurated the Ringlock system – a unique  case architecture that allows it to withstand the pressure exerted at this extreme depth. While featuring the aesthetic DNA and intrinsic characteristics of the Professional watches in the Oyster Perpetual collection, it meets the exacting requirements of professional divers in terms of resistance to underwater pressure, precision and reliability.

Legible and functional

In the underwater depths, being able to read the time with absolute certainty is a matter of survival. Great attention was paid to the legibility of the Rolex Deepsea: this professional divers’ watch features a dial with a pared- back design and incorporates the Chromalight display. The simple forms of the hour markers – triangles, circles and rectangles – and the hands, which are clearly differentiated in size and shape, are filled or coated with a  luminescent material emitting a long-lasting blue glow – for up to two times longer than traditional phosphorescent materials. On the bezel, the triangular ‘zero’ marker of the graduation is visible in the dark thanks to an embedded capsule containing the same luminescent material.

High-technology ceramic

Rolex played a pioneering role in the development of special ceramics for creating monobloc bezels and bezel inserts.  Not only are these materials virtually scratchproof, their colours are also of a rare intensity and are  resistant to environmental effects. In addition, thanks to its chemical composition, the high-tech ceramic is inert and cannot corrode. Rolex has developed exclusive expertise and innovative manufacturing methods that grant  it complete independence in the production of these ceramic components.

On the new version of the Rolex Deepsea, the unidirectional rotatable bezel is fitted with a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom insert in blue ceramic that allows divers to monitor their time underwater. The high-performance  compression ring of the Ringlock system is also made of blue ceramic. The moulded, recessed graduations and numerals on the insert, as well as the engraved inscriptions on the Cerachrom ring, are coated with yellow gold via  PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition). The bezel’s knurled edge offers excellent grip and can be manipulated with ease.

This system comprises three  superposed elements: a thick, slightly domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, a high-performance compression ring, which withstands the water pressure, and a case back in RLX titanium. The crystal of the  Rolex Deepsea is 5.5 mm thick, and the case back is held tight against the compression ring by a screw-down ring. The compression ring on the 18 ct yellow gold version is manufactured in a blue high-tech ceramic – a first for  this component.

The Oyster case of the Rolex Deepsea is also equipped with the helium escape valve, patented in 1967. This safety valve works to protect Rolex divers’ watches created for great depths by allowing excess pressure built up inside  the watch case to escape during a diver’s decompression phase in a hyperbaric chamber – a process inherent to saturation diving – without compromising the waterproofness of the watch.

Rolex is presenting a new version of the Perpetual 1908, which was launched last year. In 2024, the watch is decked in 950 platinum and graced with an ice blue dial featuring a guilloché rice-grain motif. This rosette-like  design is distinctive for its three-dimensional, repeating geometric pattern that extends across the surface of the dial, starting from the small seconds counter at 6 o’clock. The minute track is surrounded by a filet sauté with a  crimped pattern, which is also guilloché.

With the introduction of a dial created via guillochage, or engine turning – a technique that uses a turning tool to sculpt a pattern into a surface – Rolex is pursuing the course it has set for the Perpetual collection as a tribute to the classic art of watchmaking infused with the brand’s knowhow and creativity. Rolex is introducing two new Oystersteel versions of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II. One instrument, several time zones

Designed as a navigation aid for professionals criss-crossing the globe, over time the GMT-Master became the watch of choice for travellers. It has a unique and instantly recognizable design with a bidirectional rotatable bezel  and a 24-hour graduated insert, which has been made available in various dual-colour combinations – the lower half symbolizing daytime hours and the upper signalling nighttime hours – as well as in single-colour versions.  The GMT-Master, a true ‘tool watch’, evolved continually to offer increasing technical performance. Calibre 3285 incorporates the patented Chronergy escapement, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorus, this escapement is resistant to strong magnetic fields. The  movement is fitted with a blue Parachrom hairspring, manufactured by Rolex in a paramagnetic alloy.

The hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations as well as high resistance to shocks. It is equipped with a Rolex overcoil, ensuring the calibre’s regularity in any position. The oscillator is mounted on  the Rolex-designed, patented high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, increasing the movement’s shock resistance. Since 2023, the oscillating weight has been fitted with an optimized ball bearing.

Calibre 3285 is equipped with a selfwinding system via a Perpetual rotor. Thanks to its barrel architecture and the  escapement’s superior efficiency, the power reserve of this movement extends to approximately 70 hours.

Oyster and Jubilee bracelets

The GMT-Master II in Oystersteel with grey and black Cerachrom bezel insert is fitted on an Oyster bracelet or a Jubilee bracelet. Developed in the late 1930s, the Oyster bracelet is a three-piece link metal bracelet known for  its robustness; it remains the most universal bracelet in the Oyster Perpetual collection. Supple and comfortable, the Jubilee bracelet is a five-piece link metal bracelet; it was specially created for the Oyster Perpetual Datejust,  which was launched in 1945.

Both the Oyster bracelet and the Jubilee bracelet of the GMT-Master II are equipped with the Oysterlock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening. They also feature the Easylink comfort extension link,  developed by Rolex, which allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm.

The new versions of the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date express the brand’s enduring desire for rare and wide-ranging expertise to be found in even the smallest details.  Colours, materials, motifs, hour markers – each element contributes to the harmony of the new combinations.

Rolex is enriching the Day-Date range with new versions of the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 and the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 showcasing finely worked dials.

Ombré dials make their debut on the Day-Date 40. The version presented, in 18 ct Everose gold, introduces slate ombré – a completely new hue for such a dial, whose surface, coloured at the centre, progresses to a deep black  around the edge. Also appearing for the first time on the ombré dial of this watch are faceted, deconstructed Roman numerals and faceted index hour markers in 18 ct pink gold. Until now, Rolex ombré dials were set with  diamond hour markers and were reserved  for the Day-Date 36. This new dial represents the continuity of a design that the brand introduced in the 1980s and relaunched in 2019. The manufacture of these dials with a  concentric gradient involves the application of black lacquer, a delicate operation overseen by a specialist, whose task it is to ensure the harmonious transition from colour to darkness.

Fashioned from 18 ct white gold, a second new version of the Day-Date 40 features a dial made of pearlized white mother-of-pearl. This natural material is used on the model for the very first time. Extracted from the oldest  and noblest part of the oyster shell, pearlized mother-of-pearl has a subtle, rich structure whose irregular texture evokes tiny overlapping clouds and gives a sense of volume. Every disc of material used to create a mother- ofpearl dial is meticulously selected for the harmony of its patterns and finesse of its iridescent effects, and is positioned in a way that optimizes the dial’s shine. On the version presented, the shimmer of the mother-of-pearl is  further enhanced by the ten baguette-cut diamonds set onto the dial as hour markers.

The Day-Date 36 proposes a dial with faceted, deconstructed Roman numerals and faceted index hour markers, which were until now exclusive to the Day-Date 40. A new variant of the Day-Date 36 in 18 ct yellow gold reveals  a white lacquer dial complemented by these now-emblematic hour markers with their perfect geometrical forms and uniformly smooth and shiny surface. Each element is crafted individually in a special workshop, undergoing  no fewer than seven operations in the hands of an expert before being applied to the dial. For the first time, the Day-Date 36 in 18 ct Everose gold sports a blue-green dial – a colour introduced on the Sky-Dweller last year – which is adorned with ten baguette-cut diamonds. This dial of remarkable depth and intensity is notably available on a version of the watch whose bezel is set with 60 trapeze-cut diamonds. The creation of this bezel demands  time and patience on the part of the gem-setter, who adjusts and sets each of the stones by hand. Until now, only the Day-Date 36 in 950 platinum and the Day-Date 40 in 18 ct gold or 950 platinum offered a bezel set with  trapeze-cut diamonds.

Day-Date 40 and Day-Date 36 models are equipped with calibre 3255, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology, enabling them to display the day and the date, as well as the hours, minutes and seconds.

Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 and Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 carry the Superlative Chronometer certification, which ensures excellent performance on the wrist.

Exclusivity according to Rolex

At its launch in 1956, the Day-Date was a major innovation: it was the first calendar wristwatch to indicate, in addition to the date, the day of the week spelt out in full in an arc-shaped window at 12 o’clock on the dial – a  technical feat at the time. The day of the week is available in a choice of 26 languages. Watches in the Day-Date range are made only of precious metals – 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold, or 950 platinum.

Worn by many of the world’s political figures, directors and visionaries, the Day-Date is instantly recognizable, in particular thanks to its emblematic President bracelet, whose evocative name, together with the eminent figures who have worn it, ensured the Day-Date became known as the ‘presidents’ watch’.

The Oyster case, symbol of waterproofness

A paragon of robustness and elegance, the Oyster case of the Day-Date 40 and Day-Date 36, measuring 40 mm and 36 mm respectively, is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). The middle case of the  versions presented is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold. Its case back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the  movement. The Twinlock winding crown, fitted with a double waterproofness system, screws down securely against the case. The crystal, which features a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for easy reading of the date, is made of  virtually scratchproof sapphire and benefits from an anti-reflective coating. The waterproof Oyster case provides optimal protection for the movement it houses.

The Day-Date 40 and the Day-Date 36 are equipped with calibre 3255, a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. President bracelet

The Day-Date 40 and the Day-Date 36 are fitted on a President bracelet. Created specially for the launch of the prestigious Oyster Perpetual Day-Date in 1956, this three-piece link bracelet, made only from 18 ct gold or 950  platinum, is still reserved exclusively for the Day-Date and precious metal versions of the Datejust.

The President bracelet is in 18 ct Everose gold for the Day-Date 40 with the slate ombré dial and the Day-Date 36 with the blue-green dial; it is in 18 ct white gold for the Day-Date 40 with the pearlized white mother-of-pearl  dial and in 18 ct yellow gold for the Day-Date 36 with the white lacquer dial. The bracelet is equipped with an elegant concealed folding Crownclasp and includes patented ceramic inserts – designed by Rolex – inside the links  to enhance its flexibility on the wrist and its longevity.

Superlative Chronometer certification

Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 and the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 are covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This designation testifies that every watch  leaving the brand’s workshops has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, following the official certification of the movements by the Swiss Official  Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The in-house certification tests apply to the fully assembled watch, after casing the movement, guaranteeing superlative performance on the wrist in terms of precision, power reserve,  waterproofness and self-winding. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer is of the order of −2/+2 seconds per day – the rate deviation tolerated by the brand for a finished watch is significantly smaller than that  accepted by COSC for official certification of the movement alone.

The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
