As part of its enduring romance with cinema, Chopard is proud to once again announce its partnership with the Red Sea International Film Festival. Bringing the best in Arab and world cinema to Jeddah, the third edition will be held from November 30th to December 9th. As the Festival’s watch and jewellery partner, Chopard will have the honour of designing and crafting in its workshops the main award of the competition, the “Golden Yusr for Best Feature Film”: a beautiful rock crystal shell enhanced with 18-carat ethical gold. Always keen to support a new generation of talents, the Maison will also present the “Best Emerging Talent Award”.
For the second time, Chopard is the official watch and jewellery partner to the Red Sea International Film Festival, which will take place between November 30th and December 9th, 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
As part of this collaboration, Chopard has the honour of crafting the “Golden Yusr for Best Feature Film” awarded by the Festival jury at the end of the competition. This award is beautifully crafted in the shape of a shell from crystal rock, with gold engravings, thanks to the unique expertise cultivated within the Maison’s workshops.
In 2022, in line with its commitment to promoting young talents, Chopard created a special trophy entitled the “Best Emerging Talent Award”. In 2023, this distinction will once again be presented to an emerging actor or actress as part of the Festival Awards Ceremony, thus turning the spotlight on a new generation of talents.
Commenting on the collaboration, Caroline Scheufele said, “Chopard shares a number of key values with cinema, including a strong focus on daring and creativity. Just like movie stories, our watches and jewellery are thus great sources of emotion and a vector for escapism: they provide a comforting bubble away from the world. Today, we are thrilled to be furthering our commitment to the seventh art through our partnership with the Red Sea International Film Festival.”
Chopard Loves Cinema
Since 1998, Chopard has been a loyal official partner to the Cannes Film Festival. Caroline Scheufele has thus forged unfailing ties with the numerous directors, artists, stylists, actresses and actors whose creations she admires, and on the silver screen, as evidenced by the Maison’s participation in films such as Rocketman (Dexter Fletcher, 2019), Aline (Valérie Lemercier, 2020) or No Time To Die (Cary Joji Fukunaga, 2020), while ensuring that Chopard’s magnificent Haute Joaillerie adds to the sparkle of actresses on the red carpet during the promotion of their films.
The love affair between Chopard and cinema is also at the origin of the Trophée Chopard, awarded each year since 2001 to highlight a young actress and actor emerging onto the international scene.
