A little black dress
A true icon of Joie de Vivre, Happy Sport has been continuously reinvented in an infinite palette of colours whose shimmer accentuates its playful character and positive energy. The star of Chopard women’s watchmaking now slips just as easily into an LBD. Without losing any of its casual elegance, its allure is thus enhanced by an almost movie-like scenography highlighting the choreography of its dancing diamonds. “3, 2, 1… Action!” Pairing black and gold, steel and diamonds, darkness and light, the design is reminiscent of black felt curtains, popping flashbulbs and Hollywood studio spotlights.
The appealing result features a perfect blend of glamour and understatement: just like an LBD, the watch lends itself to every look and circumstance. Black struts its stuff on three central elements of the watch. First, on the intense black-lacquered dial dotted with gold indications. Second, on the varnished calfskin strap, whose glossy shine echoes the dial texture. The strap is interchangeable, giving the watch the potential for infinitely varied transformations. Finally, the bevelled crown in ethical rose gold completes the watch’s chromatic harmony by swapping its traditional sapphire – one of the collection’s classic design codes – for a setting of onyx: a hard stone that Chopard has long associated with the playfulness of its dancing diamonds in Happy Hearts jewellery.

Responsible materials
As part of its Journey to Sustainable Luxury, Chopard has chosen to highlight the twirling of the dancing diamonds by crafting the Happy Sport’s case in its exclusive Lucent Steel™. Made from at least 80% recycled material, this alloy endowed with properties comparable to surgical steel is brighter, stronger and more comfortable to wear than standard steel. Since 2023, Chopard has extended the use of Lucent Steel™ to encompass the production of all its steel timepieces.
For the crown and cabochons, Chopard’s workshops used ethical 18-carat rose gold. One of the rare Manufactures to have had its own precious metals smelting workshop for several decades, Chopard is able to control its value chain in order to offer creations that reflect a more responsible world.
