L.LEROY unveils VOX TEMPORIS: the voice of time

A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE

For over two centuries, L.LEROY, whose origins date back to 1785, has cultivated a unique vision of Haute Horlogerie through a perfect blend of technical mastery, refined aesthetic sensibility and meticulous attention to detail, creating exceptional timepieces that embody and perpetuate an extraordinary heritage of excellence.

Throughout its extraordinary history, the Maison has created masterpieces for emperors, monarchs, aristocrats, artists and explorers, establishing itself as one of the greatest names in the history of fine watchmaking.

VOX TEMPORIS: A NEW EXPRESSION OF TIME

Today, L. LEROY, faithful to its illustrious tradition, continues to craft new horological works of art. Its latest creation, the VOX TEMPORIS, features a unique design with a single hand and a rotating dial, transforming the measurement of time into an intimate and sensory experience. By displaying only the hours, the watch encourages a more personal relationship with time, as the exact minutes are revealed on demand through its minute repeater mechanism.
This exceptional timepiece is powered by the hand-wound calibre L601SQR, combining the minute repeater complication with a flying tourbillon, a testament to the Maison’s pursuit of technical excellence and chronometric precision.

Its name, Latin for “The Voice of Time,” perfectly captures the spirit of this exceptional timepiece. Time is not simply read: it is heard, perceived and experienced through the acoustic emotion of one of watchmaking’s most poetic complications, the minute repeater.
Available in three exquisitely crafted versions and produced in a strictly limited edition of just 15 pieces in total, VOX TEMPORIS is the result of refined craftsmanship and a rarity reserved for true connoisseurs of high-end horology.

A REFINED AND MINIMALIST APPROACH TO DESIGN

VOX TEMPORIS embodies a refined balance between minimalism and refined sophistication, expressed through the distinctive Officer-style case measuring 43 mm in diameter and 14,74 mm in thickness, including the cover on the back and the front crystal. Crafted in noble materials including 18K 5N red gold, platinum, and grade 5 titanium, the latter appreciated for its exceptional resistance and lightness, this elegant case defines the identity of the Osmior classic collection. Across all executions, production is limited to just 15 pieces, underscoring the rarity and exclusivity of this creation, conceived for discerning collectors in search of intimacy, meaning, and distinction.
A sapphire crystal case back with an anti-reflective coating reveals the beautifully finished in-house movement in all its detail. Particular care has also been devoted to the ring securing the crystal to the case back: finished with a polished surface, it features sandblasted sections framed by polished edges and interrupted by six visible fixing screws, each bearing the model’s identification details in relief.
A hinged protective cover, evocative of historic pocket watches, further enhances the sense of heritage and refinement. This cover can also be personalised upon request, transforming each timepiece into a truly unique creation.

ESSENTIAL SOPHISTICATION

The dial reflects the philosophy of essential sophistication. It is conceived in absolute purity, where reduction becomes a deliberate aesthetic choice. Apart from the decorative motif and the single arrow-shaped hour hand, nothing else is present, not even the logo.

At its core lies a finely executed radial guilloche flinqué pattern, enhanced by a translucent varnish finish, that radiates from the peripheral pivot point to which the fixed arrow-shaped hour hand is anchored. This composition creates remarkable depth and dynamic reflections that shift with the light.
The arrow-shaped indicator itself is finished in different tones, giving each version a distinct chromatic identity: rendered in blue with an ALD treatment on the silver-toned dial of the titanium model, gilded on the anthracite dial of the red-gold version, and finished in refined silver on the striking blue dial of the platinum edition.
Although visually restrained, the dial reveals a rich technical complexity. The hand remains fixed, while the dial itself rotates beneath it to indicate the passage of hours, transforming the reading of time into a fluid, almost cinematic motion. While the hours are displayed visually, the quarter-hours and minutes are disclosed acoustically through the activation of the minute repeater mechanism, completing the time indication through a uniquely sensory experience. This unconventional display challenges traditional watchmaking codes, elevating simplicity into a refined mechanical performance.

A HISTORICAL INSPIRATION

This unusual aesthetic is directly inspired by a historic LEROY tact watch created in 1810 for the Prince of Hesse, today preserved at the Patek Philippe Museum. That extraordinary timepiece allowed the hours and half-hours to be read discreetly by touch, thanks to diamonds and pearls arranged around the case, an innovation that offered both practicality and refined discretion in an era preceding electric lighting.

Far from being a mere historical reference, this distinctive approach to time display has become a recurring theme in the Maison’s contemporary creations. Most recently reintroduced with the Bal du Temps model unveiled in 2025, it reflects L.LEROY’s commitment to preserving and celebrating its rich horological heritage.
VOX TEMPORIS carries this legacy forward with contemporary refinement and elegance, offering a modern expression of a centuries-old philosophy in which time is not merely measured, but quietly experienced.

THE L601SQR CALIBRE: THE MECHANICS BEHIND THE VOICE OF TIME

Developed and manufactured in Geneva exclusively for L.LEROY, VOX TEMPORIS is powered by the hand-wound calibre L601SQR, comprising 321 components, which combines two remarkable complications: the Minute Repeater and the Flying Tourbillon. It operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of more than 90 hours from a single barrel.
Long considered the “queen of complications,” the minute repeater occupies a unique place within Haute Horlogerie because it unites mechanical complexity with musical sensitivity. More than a mechanism, it is an “instrument” capable of transforming time into sound. The quality, depth, resonance and cadence of its chimes are as important as its technical execution.

Activated by a discreet slide integrated into the case band between 8:30 and 9:30 o’clock, this mechanism provides a precise audible indication of the time.
The hours, quarter-hours and minutes are distinguished by distinct chimes, generated as two finely hand-finished hammers strike their respective gongs. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, this mechanical ballet reveals the beauty and complexity of the striking mechanism in motion.

Designed to counteract the effects of gravity on the regulating organ of a mechanical watch, the flying tourbillon, made up of 76 parts, continuously rotates the regulating organ in order to improve chronometric accuracy. In its flying construction, the mechanism appears almost suspended in mid-air, as it is supported only from beneath without any upper bridge, unlike the conventional tourbillon device. Yet on the VOX TEMPORIS, this sophisticated complication remains deliberately hidden from the dial side. Rather than imposing technical spectacle, L.LEROY chose restraint and understatement preserving the purity and mystery of the watch’s aesthetic.

Elegant and understated in its design, this complex movement stands as a testament to the expertise of master craftsmen. The single rhodium-plated bridge features exquisitely hand-executed bevels and mirror-polished edges that contrast beautifully with the finely frosted surfaces. Equally impressive are the minute repeater hammers, whose mirror-polished surfaces and meticulously hand-bevelled profiles are finished using the traditional anglage technique. The polished screw heads further attest to the exceptional attention devoted to every detail. Each component reflects the highest standards of traditional hand-finishing, achieved only through years of experience and exceptional dexterity. The visible rubies add a vibrant touch of colour, further enhancing the movement’s visual appeal.

AN INVITATION TO EXPERIENCE TIME DIFFERENTLY

With VOX TEMPORIS, L.LEROY reaffirms its ability to transform watchmaking into an art form where technical ingenuity, aesthetic purity and emotional resonance coexist in perfect harmony. More than a timepiece, it is an invitation to experience time differently: L.LEROY invites us to rediscover the value of listening as much as observing. Conceived for a select circle of collectors and produced in an exceptionally limited series, VOX TEMPORIS stands as a powerful expression of the Maison’s enduring philosophy, where heritage inspires innovation, and where every passing hour becomes a moment to be heard, felt and treasured.
